Can I find a fold here?  Before this hand, villain had played 1/19 hands.  I've got less than 11BBs and blinds are going up in a matter of minutes.

6% of hands are 88+,ATs+,KQs,AQo+

Stoved against 99, I have 41% equity.

10% of hands yields a range of:  77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo

Stoved against 99, I improve to 48%

Ok, appreciate the input.  Do you say that because of our stack size or you just think I'm giving him too tight of a range?  I gave two likely ranges and was a dog in both with this hand.

those ranges you have mentioned are both pretty tight, but against both you are essentially flipping. in reality i think those ranges are probably wider, given that our villain has 16bb and isn’t shoving pre and is opening 3x.

against someone that is opening 3x here with 16bb, i think we also have a fair bit of fold equity

plus, you are getting pretty short, taking a flip here is fine imo.

Don't overcomplicate it. You have 7bb if you fold through the SB and BB and then blinds go up.

20 hands on a player says pretty much nothing about them. Not nearly enough of a sample to tell what he is really doing. It is just 2 orbits and from a 15-20 bb stack pretty much every player is tight waiting for a somewhat decent hand to get it in with. As said, blinds are going up, your shove looks super strong 3bet jamming on an utg raiser from ep and you are just too short and need to gamble at this point. With no info he may be a raise/folder from that stack anyway. Definitely give a wider range to a 3xer as well, most likely incompetent and not paying attention to his own stack size or anyone elses. You are probably a slight favorite if called.

I agree I'm over-complicating it.  Just wanted to make sure we were all on the same page.  🙂

And I also agree that 20 hands is not much but it's better than nothing.

Thanks everybody, I obviously shoved and was called by something better.  GG
