you need to call 2820 into a pot of 9345 if my maths is correct.

pretty marginal spot.

since you are oop i think its a fold. on the button and it becomes close.

ez fold….vs regs u need twenty to one imo…and in the smaller buyins fifteen to one since they pay u off more often when u hit

Ya this is a fold.  Like airedale said you want at least 15:1 in the smaller buyins and that is even cutting it close.

definitely a fold.

It's important not to be results oriented.

Also, that 15:1 rule is a really general statement, it can be significantly higher depending on where the raise is from and what you preceive that person to be raising with.

ex:  If you have a very tight player raising UTG, it's very likely he has a very strong hand to be doing so.  If that is the case, getting 15:1 is reasonable to be getting because he'll likely stack if you hit your set since he'll have an overpair a large % of the time.  However, if a loose player is raising on the button and you are getting 15:1 out of the bb in a heads up pot, it's a snap fold with a very small pocket pair because this player isn't likely to hit his hand nearly as often for you to get a double through.

well it looks like you donkeys wouldn't have tripled up here…. but yeah it's a fold, although i feel like it's somewhat close, because the 3-bet and cold call look super strong, helping you get paid off, and also your closing the action…..i would fold and not look at the flop just incase you hit an 8 and this action happens.

Guess I found another leak in my game. Without the cold call from the button I would have usually pitched this but with the button cold calling I would have leaned more torward seeing the flop for the reasons jshilling oulined that make it close.

With the button calling I don't think it is a close fold. You have a player who 3.5x 3bet you which is a little odd (could be a mid PP trying to scare you away, or more likely at the micro level is AA, KK, QQ trying to get more money), but the BTN flatting scares the crap out of me. No reason for us to be there, calling that makes us completely luck dependent on the flop to proceed, as you know at least one of them is going to bet huge on the flop.

For the sake of the discussion, if you do suspect both players have big hands that they are going to go all the way with it is not worth risking about 12 or 13 percent of you remaining stack with implied odds of about 20 to1?
