Super aggressive, had been raising very wide because of being CL, I have only showed down hands, won a couple of flips being ahead on the FT.

With stacks here I'm happy to take a flop.  I think with the CO being so short, well everyone being so short I don't really like a shove here (I also think 23bbs is too much to 3bet shove in todays game, but thats just my opinion).  Your hand plays well HU and you have position.  You can put the SB in a lot of tough spots by floating or raising flops depending on board texture.

I agree with DJRog. Taking a flop in position here with this hand is pretty decent as it flops well. We dont want to bust here with the CO being so short so we definitely have to take ICM into consideration in this spot.

i like flatting > 3betting > shoving preflop.

this is borderline ICM suicide actually considering how short the other two are and how close this tourney is.  the top 3 of the tournament should always be your goal once at a final table, as thats by far where the highest pay out % are in most standard pay out structures.  shoving here would greatly jeopardize that.

on the flip side of that coin, 3betting could just win you the pot preflop, but your hand plays pretty well post. these two considerations greatly outweigh shoving and folding though.

The thing is, CL can only call with the very very very top of his range.

I would defend with this hand, the big ICM factor are those two shorties.

yes and when he has it, you drain the difference in real-money equity between 4th and 1st or 2nd place money. when he doesnt have it you win 2-3bb but dont really give yourself that much better of a chance to win the tournament.

on the other hand, if you defend and are fortunate enough to flop a hand and perhaps knock him out/double up, youre the clear favorite to win the tournament. if you dont flop anything, you lost an extra big blind and move on.

see the differences in upside and downside of the two different decisions you could make here?

Thanks for the replies guys, very much appreciated.

This year I have ****ed up so many final tables, because I want to push every thin edge.
