Hi guys, I'm new to TPE and this will be my first post so dont be to hard on me lol.

We are like 100+ places ITM, 150/2500ish players left. Got short sample on villain but seems to be openin pretty wide in LP as far as I can tell. I've been playin aggro since I've had a 50+bb stack

Let's go with the bet sizing, I 3b almost 3x cause I don't wanna make him feel priced in and call with any two. Of course I want him to call with small to medium pairs and any hand I have dominated, but I just dont wanna play a big pot with JJ OOP when it's pretty hard to fade overcards when the flop comes down. As far as I can tell I'm pretty sure he's not the guy flattin a 3b with a monster pair to trap me, so I expect him to shove TT-AA, AK and AQ for sure. I don't think he's calling with KQ as he's going to be dominated most of the time even when he flops top pair if he gives me credit for a big hand, so I think it's either a shove or fold spot for KQ. So when he tank/calls, I put him on a small to mid pair, where he wants to see the flop and how the actions come down if big cards don't hit. Maybe some kind of A8s-ATs to see if he can flop a flush draw but this seems more unlikely to me. That said, whent the flop comes down I'm 90% confident that my hand is good, so i make kind of smallish cbet to see if I can induce a raise, which is what he does. Now when he raises to half his stack I see unlikely (although maybe 20% possible) that he is on a naked bluff, I think he commits himself and is willing to play for stacks. With the range I put him on, my JJ plays very well, basically I'm only worried about a set, maybe he's on the nut flush draw and most likely i put him on 77-TT.

What do you guys think? I'm still pretty confident I made the right play. Would appreciate any comment. Ty ppl

How was your opponent playing prior to this hand, any stats or reads?

3
betting pre is fine. i would probably just flat call a random player
keeping lots of weaker and dominated hands in play when your oop and
keeping the pot small, evaluating the flop and going from there. If i
had been 3betting him a lot and had a crazy agro image then 3 betting
becomes more appealing.

on this flop c betting is
fine. when he raises to half his remainins stack then alarm bells should
be ringing. All hands in his range that your beating on this flop
should be folding, flatting or shoving. Flush draws should be shoving
and 77-JJ would fold, flat and evaluate or shove if he thinks your full
of it. Hes not raising for half his stack and folding to a shove so i
think that tells you that hes confident that his hand is good here. I
certainly wouldnt be raise/calling this flop in his shoes without at
least a strong queen. This is all villain depenant though and assumes he
is a standard player

the other option on the flop if your certain your ahead against aggressive oponents is check shoving getting value from bluffs and 77-TT.

Think he shows up with AQ a lot here that he didnt wanna get in 40bb pre by 4betting, unless you think hes very spewy or is on super tilt then i fold the flop.

I don't mind the 3b sizing being OOP. Flop c-bet size is a little under 50% – can maybe go a little smaller here.

I don't jam over the raise. We obv. have no fold equity and we're basically crossing our fingers and hoping to be against a bare flush draw, otherwise we're drawing to 2 outs almost always.

Quick question: Why do you put him on 77-TT? These are hands with showdown value and the avg. player does not turn hands like this into a bluff. Instead, they try to get to showdown as cheaply as possible.

In that moment i was almost sure he couldnt have a Q cuz he was playin aggro as I said. The way he was playing and the fact that the last round I've 3bet him actually get me to think that he was shoving 100% AQ and maybe KQ so there's no hand he calls me with a Q in it, so i thought my JJ were good and he was simply not buying it. I realize the avg player does not raise half stack with 77-TT there, either they shove or call (most likely). So against an avg plr I could have folded, obviously we are most likely crushed or a slight fav agains a flush draw, but I decided I wanted to get it in with this guy. BTW he happened to have QJo so go figure…

Comments appreciated guys ty
