Hey

V is very aggressive, he would 3-bet quite often pre and also would call 3-bets way too often too. Post flop they tend to raise my flop c-bet very often or c/r my flop bets, i found it very difficult to figure out a counter strategy vs this opponent. I felt that i was folding way to much during this head up battle post flop, though how can i continue with a hand like King high on a 4 7 9r flop? when he’s betting like 3/4 of the pot, anyway i think i’m getting carried away now lol but i;d like to know your thoughts on this on how we can adjust to this opponent? i also dont think they were balanced, if that helps.

as for this hand, i think i should of bet turn , we may not get called by worse, though i guess making a some what of a thin value bet is good here to protect our hand vs over cards or any hand that has decent equity against us, at the same time though , they’re only making their hand like 15% of the time on the river so that’s not that often which makes me think checking is okay as played.

as for the river, call/fold?

thoughts?

hey imo I like a 1/3 pot bet on turn, but as played V being “very” agg what I think he may (if u have any notes of he pots control) rep with this bet on river is AKs,AKo,KQs,KQo,KTs,KTo, and JJfull, if not he may have just AKhh,KQhh,KThh, and fullJJ thats V value this is what I think, the remain thing its if u think he will bluff enough there to call? can this V have air on river Ks when check-check-bet IP that board?

to adjust I think u should have played for some time to by on HU on how he plays different things like FD,gutshst, middlepr, etc…specially as u say u think he is unbalanced, and how he may percive you… if he is c/r a lot, cbet or bet thin less… and 3bet more postflop

I would have lead the flop here.  That's a pretty good flop for 55.

Why does that mean you should bet flop?

I like betting turn, as you say. If V never calls with worse, you can probably bet any two cards profitably. But he will almost certainly call with a fair bit of Ax. Of course you are not a big favorite against those hands. The real value in betting is to deny him equity with other unpaired hands.

As for adaptations more generally, sounds like you are c-betting too often. If you try to c-bet 974r 100% (or worse, you try to check back hands like 66 and c-bet everything else), you are going to be really vulnerable to check-raises.
