Hey guys: I feel like this is an easy decision one way or the other but I don't know if I should be folding here for icm reasons (I have a poor understanding of ICM). It's a tilt $75 45 man w 7 left and 6 get paid. 6th place is $217.45
A few notes:
1) I've been most aggro at the table up until final 7
2) There are no antes in FTP 45s if anyone is unfamiliar w them

Being the short stack with just over 7bb and 3 players left to act I’m shoving this. If we fold were basically playing for 6th and a min cash. Since everyone else is waiting for you to bust and your hand is going to be ahead a lot of the time you can’t pass up this spot.

This is an easy shove. When you get down around 15BB, it is always good to start looking for a shoving hand. When you get <10BB other opponents will call you with just about anything if they have a stack on you, which can make it difficult.
"Your either in Sheen's Korner or your with the trolls."
i plugged everything into the ICM calulator at holdemresources.net and got a shoving range of ~18%: 44+, A2s+, A9o+, K9s+, KJo+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s
it says that the diff in EV of push vs. fold is ~7% of the prizepool (~$226). and that's with the BB only calling 10%. the wider he's calling then the tighter you should shove. like if he's calling ~17% then it says you should shove 12%: 55+, A7s+, A5s, A9o+, KJs+
FWIW, it says even with an ante of 60 you should be folding A6o and below.
definitely a cool tool to play with.
Thanks Golaith, Praetor, and Krul. I would snap shove this with 8 people left, but wasn't sure if 7 players made it debatable or not due to ICM. I've spent most of my career ignoring ICM and think this could be a major leak in my game.
Thanks Hagbard! This was the answer I was looking for. I'll definately checkout the icm calculator and play around. I have a pretty loose image at the table and think i'll get called at least 25% of the time so the range might even be tighter than that.
Here is my next question. From my (admittedly weak) understanding of ICM, the model assumes that all players are equal in skill. If I ithink i'm in an ICM fold situation, but think i have a skill edge over my opponents do I adjust by shoveing a wider range than the calculator recommends? How do i figure out how much to adjust it?
.Thanks for any feedback!
