BB: BB = 42.8, t17129

UTG: BB = 29.2, t11675

UTG+1: BB = 7.6, t3055

UTG+2: BB = 9.9, t3946

MP1: BB = 15.7, t6263

MP2: BB = 17.1, t6842

Hero (CO): BB = 11.1, t4430

BTN: BB = 55.4, t22158

SB: BB = 27.5, t11004

Pre Flop: (t1050) Hero is CO with 6 of diamonds 9 of diamonds

7 folds, Hero shoves

I really need to learn the proper math behind these shoves!

I had a feeling it was -EV but the blinds were tight and I thought I could get away with it, although I did just shove the previous hand and took it down.

There is a TPE Theory Video called “TPE Math” and included is a excel spreadsheet which you can use to plug in the numbers, give the bb a few different calling ranges (10%,15%,20% etc..) and calculate if the shove was +ev or not.

Having said all that, if the BB didn't have so many chips I would auto shove this as 69s plays decently if called by two overs.

I would rather shove some suited connector/gapper vs a raggy ace alot of the time as you probably have 2 live cards. (But if I had A6 or A9 here though I insta jam lol..how's that for a contradiction)

I probably fold considernig the BB's stack size. If the SB and BB had the same sized stack I shove all day and twice on Sunday 🙂

Definitely check out the video and spreadsheet that meta mentions above.  I went ahead and did the calcs giving both blinds pretty wide ranges of 27% (22+,A2s+,K8s+,QJs,A2o+,K9o+,QTo+).

It's +EV but it's close.  At this stage, given how short you are and how hard it is to find a spot to open shove I'd take it and just hope to get folds or a bink.

Pot 1050

Your Stack 4380

BB 400

Effective Stack 4380

Single Call Range 27.00%

Left to Act 2

Call % 46.71%

Fold % 53.29%

Win % 38.00%

Lose % 62.00%

If we shove and get folds 5430

If we shove, get called and win 9810

If we shove, get called and lose 0

EV of a Shove 4635

EV of a Fold 4380

Net EV of a Shove 255

EV as % of Stack 5.82%

EV as # of BBs 0.64

Risk of Busto 28.96%
