These are 2 hands coming from the Borgata Winter Open 6-Max Re-entry event. They both take place during the last level of re-entries, so I am aware short stacks are going to be gambling more to double or bust so they can re-enter with the full 15k stack. I have built my stack up to ~30k being fairly aggressive. With 2 good players being knocked out, I'm probably the most/second most aggressive player at my table.
Hand 1 Blinds 200/400/50a
UTG calls 400, he's the weak spot on the table. He has been limping a decent amount, but playing pretty fit or fold post flop, so I try to isolate him when I can.
folds to me on the button, I raise to 1300 with KJo. BB flats 1300. He had about 10k to start the hand, and he had been playing very loose since he got here. UTG folds.
Flop (3500) is KT6r, BB checks, Hero bets 1600, BB raises to 3500, Hero shoves all-in.
With the re-entry period ending soon, I feel like he is going to get it in with any king maybe any ten. Is this a good shove or am I crushed here a lot?
Hand 2 Blinds 200/400/50a
UTG folds, Hero raises to 800 with KQss, CUT folds, BTN (villain from hand 1) calls 800, SB (weak player from hand 1) calls 800 and BB (another weaker player) calls 800. This is probably one of the first times I have gone more than 3 ways to the flop. I had been opening for a min raise the entire tournament as my standard except when there were players in the pot before me, or blind vs blind.
Flop (3500) K23ccc, checks to me, Hero bets 1600, BTN folds, SB raises all-in to 8500, BB folds.
This is the absolute last hand of the re-entry period. I have no club in my hand. If I lose this hand I'm down to 10k going into 250/500/50, if I win, I will be back up to 30k and a nice healthy 60bb stack. Getting just about 2-1, do we call here or would I be spewing away chips?
1st Hand: What does villian flat with in the BB with UTG still to act preflop? Since you say he has been loose, his range is probably wide including any pair to set mine, A6s+, ATo+, T9s+. My only thought about postflop action is that he is committing himself to the pot when he 3bets meaning you have no fold equity. When you shove he is always calling imo and you are essentially only beating bluffs, AT, or straight draw. Looks like he flopped set or two pair. I fold and conserve those chips you have built up.
2nd Hand: I think the weak player jams flop with weak K rather than check/raise with weak K. So again, I dont think you are beating much here except a flush draw and your equity vs that is not very good. Fold.
I would have checked flop in a multi-way here rather than cbet. You likely get a check behind then you can evaluate turn.
