Final 3 tables of the $55/25k I think.
villain seems competent. He lost a good chunk of his stack 3 betting JJ vs an 18bb stack and losing. He then doubled shoving 19bb over MP1 raise with 77 and winning vs KK.
He is playing 19/19 over 31 hands. I'm guessing my hand is +ev to just open shove if it were folded to me so I'm not sure what the best option is here.

I would prolly just fold. You can’t flat since there’s 5 players left able to squeeze including the button who has less than 10bb. I would preserve my 26bb stack with 77 in mp to this open. I think if he’d raised in the CO or BTN and had a high-ish steal % then I would shove. I need a more solid situation before I’m risking my tourney.

Agreed with G0liath, but would you guys shove this if you were in the CO/BTN?  Or if you only had 20 bbs?

my old nitty self would say fold.  Flatting def not an option.

My new more aggro self (bigdog will laugh at me) thinks we should jam here.  We are a blind increase away from being under 20bbs.  Gotta get those chips while we can.

Get it in and win the flip i my advice.

If our image is decent. I make it 14K and cbet every flop. It'll work often and you'll pick up a nice pot. If it doesn't work you'll still be left with 56kish to shove.  It's the best of both worlds play.

If our image is bad I fold and look for a better spot.

I mean 77 is the bottom of my range I'd consider for just shoving. Probably shoving 88 quite comfortably here. I think 3b/f has merit but my image was pretty active and I don't really like 3b/folding without blockers. I opted to shove here but it seemed very thin at the time and seems suboptimal to me now.
