Hi guys dont have the HH for this im afraid but here goes… It might be super standard but Just interested in what ppl have to say.
13.5 k at 500/ 1 k. utg opens min with 22 bb stack, utg+ 1 makes it 4 k to go and has 40 k + . I dont really have specific reads on these players but havent really seen either get out of line so far. When utg+1 is 3betting here IMO he has a very narrow range of hands. Namely AK, AA and KK, Maybe JJ sometimes?
We wake up with QQ in the sb. Is this an easy shove or can we fold here?
I guess out of the 4 mentioned I have 1 dominated, 1 flipping and 2 crushed by. Maybe I have answered my own question but wondering what you guys think about this….
“When utg+1 is 3betting here IMO he has a very narrow range of hands. Namely AK, AA and KK, Maybe JJ sometimes?”
If this is the case, then QQ is a fold for sure.
“I dont really have specific reads on these players”
If this is the case however, then how can you asign such a range to UTG+1?
Lots of people make a fundamental mistake in spots like these vs unknown players, they assign the villian a range that they themselves would have in a similar situation. I'm not saying that that is necessarily what you have done here, but it is something to be aware of.
Personally if I am in this spot vs an unknown, I'm not automatically willing to give them credit for one of the two hands that beat me. 15 years ago this would probably be an easy fold, but with all the 3-betting that goes on in todays game, I think passing on this spot would be a mistake.
You're right with what you say and as I said in my first post I may be answering my own question. When I say I have no specific reads on them, I mean to say I havent really had a pot with them, havent really seen them get out of line or be exceptionally laggy or fishy. There has been pretty much no light 3 betting on this table from what I have seen.
The reason I assigned the guy those ranges is the positions the raises came from and the particular stack size he was 3 betting against. Your correct in saying that If I assign the guy that narrow of a range then I guess I should fold? But I figured hes also doing this with AK and tbh im on 13 bigs so Im in need of a double up urgently.

Personally, i dont think you can ever fold here. With 13bb you dont really have time to wait for a better spot, even against that really tight range of JJ+, AK you are 47%, so with the chips already in the middle this makes it an autoshove. If you had JJ in this spot you still have 36% equity against that range, so you nearly have correct odds. This is assuming the absolute tightest range for villain too.
