ITM in the big 55, 20ish/250ish remaining
villain is 57/43 over 7 hands on table, basically running over table.
I also assume he knows that someone wil play back at him, so 4bet has a good possibility of being light,
I 5bet intending to fold to shove and shove on non horrible flops if called.
I feel my line looks really strong here, what do you think his calling range is?

I think since they are trying to run over the table it seems, that your 3bet size OOP here is way to small (unless you want to play a bloated pot OOP). Someone who is trying to run over the table isn't just gonna fold IP to a min 3bet from the blinds, especially considering they have to expect to get played back at (like you said).
Then it ofc becomes a clickback war because of sizing… Bigger 3bet will reduce the % you are 4bet. Also, with your hand and current position in the tourney I don't think its necessary to promote this type of action against another big stack. I'm sure there were other opponents you could exploit at this table…
i disagree with your first statement, when someone is running over the table we absolutely have to take a stand or make a play, he is essentially constraining our ability to win pots off the others by being involved in so many pots. if we can own him we gain alot of chips/sometimes cause him to subsequently spew/gives us alot of credit.
to me this looks spewy, i understand that you wanna take a stand against this guy. but oop with 79o – not optimal imo
if you have history with that guy its something different, but if you only have 7 hands(or is it a typo?) on him i would never try sth like this – but im a nit 😉

Ya, I'm not sure 7 hands is a big enough sample size to define him as running over the table yet. He may have just picked up a few big hands in a row. I think your line does scream strength but I don't think hes necessarily running an elaborate bluff here either.

If you are directing at me, then I never said to let them run over… I support taking a stand/making a play, but the sizing isn't big enough imo.
thanks for the feedback guys, i do think he has to have a pretty narrow calling range on the flop.
it was only 7 hands he had been on the table, but he had 3bet a late position open once and raised first in 3/3, i was pretty confident he was opening wide, and should have a reasonable 4bet/fold range
i dont usually get so far out of line like this but im trying to open up my 4/5 bet game a bit as i feel im becoming quite exploitable by having a wide and light 3bet range and a hugely narrow and unbalanced 4/5 bet ranges
also would you prefer a 5bet shove or 5bet as played?
