Villain played 7/4/0 over a sample of 70 hands. So needless to say we was a serious nit. It kind of hurt me to flat pre with 25bb effective but what am I really getting value from? After a 3b and 4b it seems like I've saved some money and it's time to fold AK pre, no?

Yeah scary with a guy this tight, but a couple of considerations …

First, did you or he rebuy yet? If I haven’t used any or if I am on my last one will make a difference. I might find a fold if I am on my last gasp, but …

If I am not looking to pay jump and if it’s not gonna knock me out?

No WAY I am folding AK pre. I don’t care how tight the guy is. Sure. He might have AA or KK. We are only way behind to AA.

What is Mr Tight’s range then? AA KK QQ JJ 1010 AK … Maybe AQ. I think he is going to be very aggro with his whole range. And he is calling off with his while range too. He is more likely to have 1010-QQ because you have an A, so I am jamming here almost all the time.

Will you get picked off and loose the stack at times. Sure. Happens even when you are ahead. So, you rebuy.

But when you win this pot … Wow, you have heaps!

I am breaking my arm shoving my stack into this raise. High variance yes, but taking spots like this wins tourneys I think. Well, eventually. If you don’t get busted.

So as a follow up … Did you get to see what villian had? How did the rest of the hand play out?

^doing anything other than taking all your rebuys straight away seems really silly.

against 2 ranges of 99+ AQ+ we have 28.9% equity. and we arent doing much better than 2-1 on our money. changing the nits range to JJ+ AK we have 24.1% equity. given the 4x raise giving both ranges JJ+ AK we are 20%, so yea fold.

dont go seeking flips, especially flips where we are about 13% away from break even.
