Could 4-bet with intent to call off a 5-bet shove, and to make a c-bet on the flop if our 4-bet is flatted. There's already 15BB's, we complete there's 20. We'd have a pot sized turn bet left if our c-bet is called. I think a 4-bet shove is not hated in the spot. We're more than likely flipping Vs pocket pair or AQ/AK

You could also 4-bet to 4250 (17bb) and re-evaluate.

thanks for the responses;  my image was fairly tight….Flatting here would absolutely be the wrong move in this position correct?

THis same player called a 3bet shove for 11bb with 99

4-betting to 17bb and re-evaluating would be bad, if you were to fold. 4-betting puts too much of our stack in. Are you really going to put in 44% of your stack preflop and fold?

I would rip it unless villain is a super-nit. In this spot, i rip.

Not flatting. Not 4B folding. I'm wondering if just 4B'ing to 18BB might get him to fold some of his 88/99 hands that he might be calling if we rip…?

When given the option between 4 betting or folding with AK… take the 4 bet route.

A player calling a 38BB shove with 88/99 is our friend. We want him at our table. There is a HUGE difference between him calling here, and him having called an 11BB shove with 99. One of those plays is usually correct, the other rarely ever.

Yep, I agree, 4-Betting is your only valuable option here.
