Same live tourney guys

1.1k buy in

Blinds 100/200/25

Hero 20k

Villain 33k

Villain had been one of those annoying players who just always seems to know EVERYTHING about everyone elses hands and odds and the best line etc. etc.

He did like to slow play hands pre to trap and iso limpers with mediocre hands when in LP like KTs, A4o, A7o all having to showdown

I know he knows i'm a somewhat decent player and has not got out of line vs me to this point given i'm in position and i have the only stack that can really hurt him.

EP weak passive asian limps in, folds around to the villain in SB who completes

I am in the BB with 7spade5club and check

Flop (825) 6club5spade4club

SB checks and i donk lead 400 thinking most of the time i will take it down here uncontested

EP asian calls 400

SB check raises to 1,250

I think this is pretty unusual for him and given that i have donk lead i feel like he's trying to buy the pot there.

I also think this time i could actually play back at him on this flop that could have smashed my range and get him to fold some top pairs, F draws and even his air

So i 3bet him to 3.4k

He says 'count it out' to the dealer and then clicks me back to 8.9k!!!

I immediately think i'm an idiot for turning my hand into a bluff and try to range him..

Overs with F draw, 66,44 and unlikey 55. Maybe im drawing dead and he has 87.

Even when i'm typing this i realise i should not be 3betting with the intention of folding haha

What does everyone think about this guys line?

Should i be calling this 4bet?

Can i jam!??

I think the lead is fine, but being this deep, I don't like 3bet/getting it in here. Villain can have a super wide range here that connects heavily with this flop, but since you are the big blind, so can you. When you 3bet the flop, your range has all sets/straights as you can have ATC, and he's still 4betting you anyway, so I would heavily discount draws from his range. I think as played you have to fold to this bet.

I would flat the 1250 in position and see if you can get the weak player to come along, and reevaluate the turn. Sometimes you may end up getting outplayed and folding the best hand, but that's ok, it's a small pot early in the tournament and you can always get him later on, especially being on his direct left.

Not sure why you 4bet him. Seems like the perfect spot to call his 3bet and play rest of hand in position, we still have weak Asian behind even though he is likely to fold.

As played you have to fold imo. You are losing to top pair, two pairs, already made straights, and not fairing great against flush draws. I know he is capable of making moves but he is not going to 5bet/fold here and not many people can 5bet light here.

+1

when i read “So i 3bet him to 3.4k” i was really surprised, exactly because you analyzed it right i also think “i should not be 3betting with the intention of folding” here

but i'd definetly fold to his 8k reraise.
