Full Tilt Poker $3 $0.30 Knockout No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t3000/t6000 Blinds + t750 – 8 players

I'm never sure what to do in this spot….. UTG was a “23/5” over 150 hands so we can sort of discount that he has a pretty big hand preflop since he only seems to raise monsters. I remember thinking with 17bb's I should shove here and pick up a pretty decent sized pot (1/5th of my stack) but I always have that lingering “he's limping ACES” thought that goes through my head and I end up chickening out and folding…Is shoving 17bb's bad here? what about raising to isolate the limper instead? Is the fold that bad?

i dont think the fold is that bad, but i would shove here more often than not.

i dont think you can raise any standard amount, its either shove or fold

I like the fold. EP limps at high blind levels are hard to define so I will tighten up in these spots.
