Nightly $11 6-max $4k gtd on Merge has topheavy pay structure with $250 for 4th and $1k for first.

Villain for both hands running 35/32/7 (filtered for stack size and # of players at table). I'm playing looser and we've been tangling it up for 20 minutes while other 2 players waited for hands.

Merge Network $4K Gtd – [6-Max, Deep] No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t10000.00/t20000.00 Blinds + t2000.00 – 4 players – View hand 2479939

tshen1 (CO): BB = 14.0, t280534
Hero (BTN): BB = 33.7, t674328
kelly324 (SB): BB = 39.4, t787136
rumsey182 (BB): BB = 46.2, t923002

Pre Flop: (t38000) Hero is BTN with 7 of spades 6 of diamonds
1 fold, Hero raises to t40000.00, kelly324 calls t30000, rumsey182 calls t20000

Flop: (t128000) T of hearts 8 of clubs 8 of diamonds (3 players)
kelly324 checks, rumsey182 checks, Hero bets t44444.00, kelly324 folds, rumsey182 raises to t123456.00, Hero folds

I wanted to go 222,222/fold so badly, and feel it works 50-65% of the time. Would this be good or is it just horrible ICM spew when I am repping somewhat thin with a “capable” image vs. an aggro player?

A few hands later I get the nuts vs. his button opening range. But I don't know whether to r/c induce or respect the ICM and just 3b stuff 33bbs. I'm not really looking to race or even 60/40 here and bust out for $250 when I am effectively chipping up in steals and resteals. He's also flatting a ton here and missed flops make me puke.

The problem is, 222222 doesn't really rep an 8 or a 10 that much, and he gets to make the final bet. If you had an 8, would you seriously 4-bet him on this board, or would you trap? And if you had AT, would you raise/call here? What about if you had JJ-AA? You're only ahead when r/c-ing him if he bluffs in both instances, as I don't see him spewing with any ten unless you're levelling each other. So it turns into a massive game of chicken, which you probably lose, and is also ICM suicide.

Incidentally, pissing away chips in this sort of spot is my third favourite passtime, after sports and alcohol.

With the AQ, I think we need to do a decision tree. You're bubble factor is about 2 (I assumed 2nd was for about 650 and 3rd abour 425), so it becomes a tricky spot to stack off pre. If you've got his Att2steal and a likely shoving/calling range we can go from there. My gut is that if you r/c, you don't have good enough odds against almost any range.

Good analysis, hand 1 indeed is a game of chicken. I just felt so strongly he had air. With AT or K8, I'm typically flatting flop obv. But I feel like he just blasts turn with air/draws if I take this line. And how often is he raising trips on flop? Maybe it is a bad flop cbet. Ck back flop/raise weak looking turn stabs could be a more credible value repping line.

He's aggro, but I don't think he's suicidal, so I doubt he has a wide calling range of my 3b jam pre. He'd prolly put me on a middling pair and snap off something like AJ, ATs, 77+. Spoiler alert- his 4b jamming range over my 3b induce includes hands at least as weak as KJo. So maybe a range like all broadways, all pairs, K8s+, T9s, 89s, 87s. His overall steal was 60 (25instances) and button steal was 89 (9 instances).
