ITM,around 35 left, 90 paid, villain is only at the table a few hands so no reads
Looking for thoughts regarding pre and flop and bet sizing:
Should I be raising more or less preflop, or maybe just calling because of my stack size and the big stacks in the blinds yet to act?
Is the flop an easy fold given I have no reads on the villain?or should I just call and evaluate turn and fold if he fires again?
90% of the time I am cbetting here as well, and its normally around 50% of pot give or take. In the late stage of tournaments can you reduce your cbet size, so in this case maybe to around 4000-4500, would it get me the same information for risking less chips, or does it just look weak?
cheers
TT with 27 BBs is a hand I would definitely play, I balance it between calling IP and assess on the flop keeping the pot smaller, and rerasing to get it all in on most flops (I would 3bet to 6500 or so and try to either play for stacks or take it preflop). your reraise looks like either a monster or weak and it allows him for a better price for a call, and you know you are going to see overcards 80% of the time, so you need to have a plan if he calls here, you were lucky you didnt see 2 over cards.
As played, I think you can cbet smaller as you suggest as it gets you the same info, if you are planning to fold to a reraise. if you are planning to shove to a reraise your size seems fine to me.
It is a sick spot as played since you have put in a 3rd of your stack so it is fold or shove, but the reality is that even against pretty tight ranges you are still a favorite although we all know he has a King a bunch of the time here and I dont see him folding much to your shove.
Sorry I am all over the place on this one but again I think the best advice here is to avoid ending up in that spot by either being more aggresive pre flop or choosing to set mine / hit a flop.
I'd def 3b on the higher side planning on calling a 4b shove from villian. As played his c/r on flop is going to be a K a large percentage of the time but we've put in such a large % of our stack it's kind of tough. I'd decide on the flop before I bet what my plan is if he chk/raises us here. There are hearts on the board so he could have flush draw sometimes here as well. It's def a not fun spot and that's why I'd advice 3b more to not get in these awkward spots.
I agree with Cougars4444 and isaacjames that I am 3betting bigger here, I even think you could 3bet shove. Your sizing makes it inviting for broadways to call, which is the exact hand you want to fold. As played preflop I think I would make a slightly smaller cbet and am folding to his c/r as my experience at these stakes is that it is rarely a bluff.
