why are you questioning your play when you think its standard?

or put it the other way. what are the assumptions that lead to the fact that it is standard?

Just because you run into a hand of either OR or one of the blinds doesnt mean its not a good play.

I would suggest you post your assumptions together with your calculations and then we work it out together. I am willing to help you but i dont think it makes much sense to give you the answer.

Mostt of our success at MTT comes from playing 30-18BB stacks mathematically optimal

Hi,

this statement here rings so true for me, problem being I don't feel that I am doing this all that well, sometimes when watching videos on here, such as Hitthepanda's 180m sng vids, there will be spots where i see the hand and think “Oh he'll shove for sure” and he folds, and vice versa.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some videos/material which looks at push fold/short stack maths in some more depth?

guess ur right 🙂 well,i use this 20 bb s stack for lookin in spots to 3b shove,,and this one seemed like one,he was steling a good % in late poz,i have a blocker so less probl he has an a,and if it does, must be a good one to call,,the small is short so he needs a really good hand to get it in there, thats what i was thinking:)

i would start doing this by yourself. the math is pretty easy and it helps you a ton to get things like this done.
i will guide you how to do it:
1.) give villain an opening range
2.) assign calling range
3.)calculate % of time villain folds
4.) get equity of your hand vs his calling range
5.) calculate if its +EV or not
additionally you can also solve the equation more break even equity needed when called. If you have this number you can use propokertools, put in villains calling range, put in the equity and then you get out the playable hands.
i did a spreadsheet where i did calculations of 25-10BB reshove from the BB vs different player types (NIT,TAG,LAG) against different opening positions (EP;MP;HJ;CO;BTN;SB). WIth this generic table i have a very good estimation what i can profitably reshove.
an alternative way, for the next 10sessions you store every hand you had <25BB and you do the analysis if a reshvoe would be profitable or not.
as soon as you have the basic feeling its necessary to make notes with what people called your reshove.
altogether you can then every once in a while reevaluate your short stack play

logically its sound what you say. i would just back it up with the numbers 😉

in this spot i think i shove vs decently aggressive players as you described him.

might be bit reluctant because of the two more players i have to go through.

cheers

I was going to say do you have the villains steal %, but you said you gave all the info you had, and that is was stealing a lot late. I think this is important and could be good to have in your HUD in future.

Also whats your image like? have been 3bet jamming already and being getting through?

Would kinda prefer some more info

Also NBG, you should check out the Theory Video:Math, with Ronfez and Hagbard i think, helped me a tonne
