Hey Hey
I must say I dont usually buy ins tournements of this high of a amount what happened was I
managed to win a ticket through a sat, which was pretty awsome. After I was called on the river it felt so terrible and i'm just now wondering
if i should had played this hand this way if that makes sense.
The intial raiser that bet otf bet pretty small just under half a pot if he had a strong hand he would have surely bet bigger to build the pot
and as for the caller if he had a strong hand like 44/55 he would want to raise to get more money
in the pot too!…so when he calls his range seems marginal and i'd say the top of his range is like A/KAQ/AJ/AT and smaller Ax will be in his range
and QQ/JJ/TT/99 and flush draws.
anyhow I decided to raise flop , my plan was to continue to fire on most turns that does not complete the flush.
when the board pairs i was okay with that i actually think thats a good card for me given that i discounted strong hands
from there range in the previous street.
i decided to continue to barrel turn ( bet half a pot) got called and then on the river i made a pair then v decides to lead out VERY small
his range is not weighted as strong here defintely screams out marginal and I really don't think my hand has hardly any showdown
value for that reason i decided to turn my hand into a bluff.
I just wanna know if my logic is correct here? and if you guys would of played this hand any differently
obv there's tons of ways to play this hand but i really do think i have a good bluffing candidate for it.
so yeah if u can just help me out here that'll be great.
cheers 🙂
What value hands are you raising on this flop? How are you balancing this with your bluff range? (what bluff/semi-bluff range do you have here?)
What are you trying to represent?
I think its best not to bluff after the PFR has bet and has a caller ahead of us on this flop. Calling behind with our draw seems the best. Its probably best to turn the bottom of our range here into bluffs that still have some backdoor equity such as fds and the like.
I feel like your line on the river doesnt make a whole lotta sense unless you had 44, 55 which is a small part of your range.

Not sure I understand what you're saying here. Are you saying not to bluff in this spot at all, or not with this hand? Which hands are you suggesting would make the best bluffs?

I don't mind this line too much, though I do think there's some merit to calling because your draw is sort of concealed (moreso than diamonds, anyway), and it's tough to get people off of top pair. In a heads up pot, I'd say you could rep diamonds when they came in, but there's too high a chance someone else is going for them when you're multiway.

@Kal , value hands which i am raising on this flop is 44/55/A5/A4 , ..I wouldn’t raise a hand like AK/AQ as i’d like to keep there range wide and also i don’t think i’ll get called by worse apart from flush draws, though they’ll have decent equity against my top pair.
I’m pretty much trying to represent a full house though it is unlikely that i’ve played AK this way however we can’t rule it out..
@ andrew , i’ll take a look at the link.
cheers.
