fold, seems like he is trying to scare off tens, which means you are drawing to 8 outs.  Overbet gives you terrible odds.

I fold. He could have a combo draw or you could be dead here. A lot of combo draws and any draws shouldn't just be flatting here so I'm having a tough time putting him on a hand and a tougher time putting him on a hand we beat.

This is one of those situations that its difficult to figure out if we are ahead  or behind. We are drawing to 8 oust but they all may not be clean outs due to two flush draws so that makes the hand more problematic with only one card to come.  So I woud simply say this, look at how much you have invested in the hand and what your chip stack is compared to the blinds. It looks like you have roughly 23 bigs left, I think you could find a better spot to get it in rather than call it off here.

Ok. I thought about all that but I had seen this player in lots of pots. I mean every one. Showdowns that I had noticed he was a bully of the first order. I felt that he was drawing at me or had a lower pair. Just my read on this player. I called after tanking for a long time and he had K9 of diamonds and I dodged. Not sure if this was a good call but I felt like I might have been ahead and went with it.

I think a big key to success is trying to avoid marginal spots. This is a marginal spot imo and we are playing for our stack.  If we face a lot of marginal spots in a tourney sooner or later we get snake bitten.  Im glad your read was correct.
