Buyin: 30 USD

My position: UTG

My hand: JJ

My stack: around 35K (starting stack was 40K)

Blinds: 500/1000 (went 100/200, 200/400, 300/600, 400/800 – 20 mins blind levels)

I open raise to 2500 an 4 people call me including the blinds.

Flop: Q72r

Pot: 12.5K

The blinds check, should I cbet or not? I have a very tight image (was card dead), played one hand every 2nd level. The play around the table as usual in these low buyins – loose (call a 3bet with 36s OOP) and brain-dead (3bet fold with AKs from a 30 BBs stack).

def cbet, you're repping a very strong range raising utg, and betting into 4 opponents would only limit that range to AQ+, KK+ (considering you would slowplay QQ on that board). You can expect to take it down more often than not and if called you can safely shut down as someone must have a Q.

even then if you'd double barrel anyone w a Q should be wary that they're up against an overpair. so def cbet and continue aggression if you feel your opponent is capable of folding a Q. in live tournies people are generally more scared to loose their chips than online so keep the pressure on imo.

i think your decision would be easier if the table didnt seem such bad players to you

Our image and what we are repping mean nothing if the other players aren't thinkers

I mean – sounds like if one of the players to act after you has Q8 they wont even fold to a 3 barrel

Our idea is always this: get them to fold better hands and/OR call with worse hands

Are they folding a Q here? probably yes.

and are they calling with a 7 or a 2? probably yes.

So i guess i would almost always Cbet such a dry flop and slow down if called or played back at

If the players are'nt so good, then a very small cbet should work the same amount of time as a decent sized one. I'd probably bet something in the 4.5-6k range leaving a good sized stack.

I would definitely c bet on that board texture.  It doesn't even have to be that much..maybe like 5500..I don't think it takes much to take this pot down.  I feel that you are repping a very strong hand, and the c bet will eliminate villains and if called you can put them on a hand (usually a queen) and reevaluate the turn and your actions from that point on.  If another broadway card such as a K or A hits the turn, you can fire again because it will be tough for the viillain to proceed.  This action also takes in to account the starting stacks for the players at the table.  Best of luck.
