Hi all, i know i played this awful just wondering if you think this is a good shove spot, sloty27 had just been moved to my table this the first hand he was involved in. not sure about shoving pre but on the flop with my stack and the fact he limps should i be putting it in here in your opinions? 40 left paying $120, first is $8.5k.

shoving pre would be an option but since hes a new player i think check behind is also good but

i would never just call the flop, either shove or fold, where i would tend to shove on this flop.

Yes I would shove pre. I don't think they are limping monsters in this spot. Pretty interesting spot on the flop as played. Not sure what I would do, probably just shove and bink a str8 otr against his QT laugh. Hope you folded the turn.smile

I think it's no longer important, but I feel like this is the worst turn for you, because it gives his range lots of trips, fullhouses and flushes and you didn't have enough chips behind to have good FE (I think he is probably not folding any Qx here). I would like this move much more if both of you were deeper (but even then it's probably unnecessary to risk here).

Yea, you played well in that tourney.smile

i agree that this really is on of the worst cards in the deck for you. he's not going to be folding many Ace of clubs hands or for that matter many Jack of clubs hands. most Kx hands hands that he's limping pre are hurting you as i don't think he's limping much less than KT or K9. any Qx hand is really going to have a hard time laying it down as well. the more i think about it the more i think its a fold and onto the next hand.

i really don't mind the check or the shove either pre or on the flop. on the flop the check shove is more than likely going to get the desired effect you're after, but on the turn it really looks like a fold. that said i'm a really nitty type lol

I'd possibly lean toward shoving this pre.

No-one has shown strength and there's a bunch of money in the pot.

If he gets to the table and has it the very 1st hand and limps to trap then good on him, i just think without any info i'd assume he isn't in that category (despite the fact that theres a 5bb stack behind him)

Checking behind pre is also fine, but i'd probably check jam that flop

I like a shove pre as well with all the dead money in the pot.  Like hapetimes said if he gets to the table and the very first hand open limps the cutoff to trap more power to him.  As played I'd check/shove the flop as well as we have a decent amount of FE and I can't imagine that flop really hit his open limping range.

I shove pre as well, pretty much get folds from a LP limp with 20bb
