Do you call hoping to hit , having a nice stack if you win, or fold and wait for a better spot?

Folding unless it is a rebuy. If it is still preante you still have fold equity and time to get a decent hand/spot to shove.

I'd call with a lot of suited connectors but fold small pocket pairs as you'll often have your pair dominated by better pairs but rarely be dominated with mid-suited connectors, or you'll have better equity vs JJ with 98s than with 55.

With no antes, find a better spot… You're way behind and this is a high variance spot. I aggree with Coolers that I'd rather get in the mix with suited connectors there. With 6BBs, I would prefer to be the aggressor as mid stacks are not going to want to tangle with you–just have good situational awareness at your table.
