This is such an interesting spot. I don’t think a 3-bet fold is bad in this spot but while thinking about the hand I’m not sure it is the best play.

The UTG open can be light but I don’t think it can be THAT light, so I’m assuming he has a wide range but one that will play reasonably well against our hand. Something like A8s+, KQ, KJ, 66+ and maybe some QJs and JTs. That means I think he’s likely to flat all his opening range against us and 4bet all his better hands (TT+,AK). So if we 3bet we will be playing a big pot with an SPR of around 2 out of position and even if the flop is good he’s still going to have loads of equity given his range.

Flatting here seems better to me. We give the BB (which has a reshove stack) the opportunity to shove light which will put UTG in a difficult position if he has something like KJ or JT and makes us last to act so we can then fold or reshove depending on what UTG does. If the BB calls or folds we are playing a small pot which should be easier to play out of position. If the flop comes out all low cards we will still have to figure out where we are but it’s going to be easier to float one with and SPR of 10 than it is with an SPR of 2.

Note I just think that becase he’s opening UTG and we are out of position on the SB so I think our hand can play really well post flop depending on the texture of the board as a bluff catcher.

I don´t think TT have very good equity versus an UTG raise. Better is if the raise come from MP or LP.

Good spot to flat. I like what chaos said about seeing if the BB shoves. It’s the only way you can be in position, in the sense that your decision would close the betting.
