Hey

reads - from what i remember v was a really bad player he would call 3-bets with a very wide range, so i decided to 3-bet ATo for value. I'm basically widening
my 3-bet value range against this opponent (merging range).

I reckon i played this hand terrible post flop , i just wanted to post it because i was really unsure if i should bet flop or c/c, which would be better?
bet flop seems good, to get value from weaker Ax hands and draws and lower pairs.
As for bb range , QQ+ and AK likely to 4-bet shove, v may flat AK as we are quite deep though , 99-JJ are flatting from bb i reckon and maybe broadway hands like KQs may call.
So we could get value from some hands otf , anyway i decided to check and i dont like it. Turn seems standard, as for river no idea why i'm shoving, dont think we get called by worse here.

cheers.

I personally like the flop check, especially with the cold call to the 3b. Bet more on the turn (even 12, 13k) so that your river bet putting him all in is a lower % of the pot and make him feel like he has to call off with lower Ax, Qx he rivered a pair with, maybe 9x etc.

you’re not worried about draws getting there on the turn? betting flop to protect our hand vs a hand like KJdd?

if we shove river, we may get called by JThh , QJhh, for instance no? or do u think v would have bet these otf?

looking at this hand throughly , if v was going to call a turn bet of say 13k, a lot of their range may consist of weaker Ax and 9x. I reckon if they had a flush draw they would have bet these otf or they would have probably shoved these OTT. Some players play them passively so we cant really discount flushes in their range otr can we?  I also really dont think this river changes much at all the Qheart , so yeah shove seems good. If the river was a diamond instead are u shoving? Do you think there is going to be more Ax 9x in their range rather then flushes?

Kalc nailed it IMO. If anything I'd rather bet a bigger % of pot on turn than on river, because of the dynamic board. How does betting flop protect you from Kd Jd? You think V is folding it?

yeah true , v is not folding those hands. Right so bet around 13k ott the pot would be just over 52k otr , v will have roughly 34k behind. I guess we are shoving river unless its a diamond. do u reckon a diamond improves their range of hands?

I’m not sure. Bad players check flush draws in position. He could have KJdd. Otherwise, I think he has jacks, which causes him to fold the river bet because another overcard hits (or because he was hoping for a free showdown). A bad player wouldn’t 4-bet jacks preflop.

I disagree. Players, no matter of their capability will 4-bet jacks because of the amount of overcards that can hit on runouts. If this player is calling 3bets with a wide range then his 4bet range is going to be a smaller portion of his range and i believe jacks will be in that range.

vs the player you describe and that deep i make it bit bigger pre. they call 11k with the same range they call 9.6k

i dont see why we should checkt the flop OOP on this board.

we have a lot of second best hands that we can get value from and additionally there are a lot of draws out there which we have to charge. especially vs passive fish as described they are always checking back flush draws.

as played i agree on making it bigger turn and shove river.

jsut for the people that like to check flop: are you checking river to let them bluff their missed draws? imo that should be the case if you put them heavily on a draw.

well because there's a cold call from the bb, their range is going to be rather strong , maybe AQ/AK , AK may 4-bet shove, not too sure though as for AJs i dunno if they are flatting that from the bb. I guess checking is okay even if the board is wet here , if we bet and face a shove vs the fish , i think we have to call , if we bet and face a raise by the bb , we really are in a akward spot. we are pretty deep here , so i think if bb did raise we could call and re-evaluate turns. If turn is a blank and v bets/shoves we may have to fold. Thoughts on that?

we are in a spr of 1.8 vs the ish and spr 3.5 vs bb , which spr do we use, im guessing its the spr which is less?
