I think the flat on the flop is horrible. What do you do if you don't hit the turn?

Why do you say its horrible ? I call the bet to see what he will do on the turn . So every time someone is donk betting to us is horrible to flat and see what he will do the turn if we have position vs him ? where do u find the horrible side of the call  can please let me know ?

I think flatting “for information” is terrible considering his stats indicate he's probably barreling any turn card.

To expand – the in position float like this isn't bad at all in cash games when you're playing real stacks but here you start the hand with 25 bb's against a pretty aggressive opponent.

To me it just doesn't make much sense to flat the donk lead for information. So many times we get led into by hands like bottom/middle pair and draw type hands so I don't flat donk leads unless I have a strong made hand.

His stats, even over a smallish sample, definitely lean away from telling us he'll check the Turn and give up the pot to us which is why I said flatting was so bad here.

If you had AK I'd be fine flatting and letting him spew chips like a slot machine and bet our hand for us.

Here I just raise and take it away from him since we pretty much need to fold every time we flat the flop and a blank rolls off because he's barreling and committing himself to calling.

Imo I think with your stack size, floating is not an option at all. It seems hes on the aggro side and may or may not be a bad player, but his donk bet totally took away your positional advantage after you didn't connect.

And alot of even spewy aggro players have alot more experience playing post flop than solid tags since they play so many hands. Even if they are bad, you still have to be careful, esp w 22 or so bbs.

These kind of guys are gonna defend their butt after a minraise type bet with a wide range. But he might defend with the same range to a 3x. With guys like this on the butt and considering your stack sizes maybe an open shove is the best option – their is just about 1/3 of your stack in the middle already.
