Hero?

The LP flatter does NOT seem very clever. I've seen him both underplay and overplay hands, like flatting shallow stack raises in position with JT and A2 but also flatted KK once and induced a squeeze shove.

Believe it or not i also saw him check behind AT on a 66A9A board in a 3bet pot heads up!!!!!

Does anyone do anything other than fold here?

I'm essentially set mining against vazelos and check folding any non 2 flop right?

But how does all the extra chips make us adjust our set mining odds? can we call with less than 15:1?

Also, it might sound crazy but would anyone consider shoving?

Its an easy fold imo. You could argue a shove since you have a read on villian as a weak player. Even then, say you got a fold, you still have to play against two live cards or an over pair. Not worth risking 7bb's or even your whole stack since your shove could get called. Just not worth it with the ugly 22.

i agree its an easy fold. at best you're flipping against both players. why take the risk of losing when there are going to be way better options down the line to get your money in and win.

i was just thinking though where the bottom end of your calling/shoving range would be if i was in your shoes. now i'm a nit and i don't mind saying that so i'm probably folding up to 66. i'm more than likely calling 99+ but i'm really undecided about 77 and 88. they're likely to be “live cards” more than say 1010 and JJ are assuming that the short sacked shove range has a10, aj, kj, etc. i'll stove some ranges and find out for sure.

sorry to send this on a bit of a tangent but what sort of ranges would people be iso shoving in with. would the LP flatter call that many iso shoves? were the other situations where LP did call similar to this one?

just quickly stoved it although a stinking cold is not making me think to clearly so apologies for that but…

Short stack range i gave him 22+, A2s+, K9s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T8s+, A2o+, K9o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o so basically any pair, any ace etc giving him just over 32% shoving range which i'm thinking is probably too wide.

LP range i gave him 22+, A7s+, KTs+, QTs+, J9s+, T7s+, 98s, 87s, A7o+, KTo+, QTo+, J9o+, T9o or basically any pair, a7 and upwards etc which was giving him about 24% calling range. i'm thinking thats too wide as well, but you did say he was doing some funky things so maybe not.

so equity pre flop is

you 28%

shortie 34%

LP 37%

66 against the same ranges was interesting

you 34%

shortie 31%

LP 34%

didn't think it would be that close to be honest.

still think its a clear fold though.

Snap fold. You're not shoving for value. You're shoving to ISO and try to scoop dead money but you said villain is not clever. The worse the player is the more they make bad calls and we don't want a bad call vs. our 22.

Easy fold here, calling with 22 here is trouble because you wont crush a flop near enough to make this profitable and you have <10BB once you fold. Jamming here is going to put you in a flip at best vs one player for their life worst you're crushed by two players for your life. Calling sucks, Jamming sucks, Folding rules!
