I know I'm +ev here, but against such a big stack should I be waiting for a better spot?

4th place pays €86 and 1st pays €320

tank(BB) $133529
Me(UTG) $9231.50
Split(BTN) $22179.50
morry(SB) $10060
Pre Flop: Me(UTG) with
Me(UTG) raises 9231.50, Split(BTN) folds, morry(SB) folds, tank(BB) calls 8231.50

no this seems like a jam. im not 100% because of no antes, but with antes its 100% a shove.

have to expect to be called a lot here but that also means youre getting it in good at some point.  could perhaps try to ladder jump up to a 3rd or 2nd, but if you want to try to win this thing it starts here. even if your hope was to jump the pay levels this would still be a nitty open fold.

As the site I play is without antes, and I study here with people mainly playing with antes. I convert everything M to work out where I/they stand.

The 500/1000 here would play the same as 400/800 A:75, as both M levels would be the same.

I'm usually shoving +EV with an M of 7-8 or less with or without antes.

Thanks for replying Chris, sounds about rite too me…

yeah, funny how if you were the 22k stack id be telling you the opposite. lol, just how icm strategy works sometimes. dont think you can afford to wait for morty (10k) to bust when u have 9bb and 1/2bb is already in the pot.

I believe it's a shove as well.  You have 9bb and you're about to have 8bb the very next hand.  Maybe I'm not paying attention to IMC as much as I should, but I always keep my eye on the 1st place prize, and this is the only way you are going to have a shot at it.  I believe if you fold here you are unconsciously saying to yourself that it's ok to take 3rd.
