I'd take both right away, you'll curse yourself if you miss an opportunity to stack someone for a mirrion bb's (most peeps take the full stack right away)
So seems like the benefits of these toyrney type are:
1. The rake (more Buy ins with no rake added in the price pool)
2. The fish throwing away stacks because of the rebuy.
Right?
Theres a good vid by BigDog where one of his tables is rebuy and he discusses his tactics – he takes rebuy at start, tries to see as many cheap flops as poss, knowing when you hit em hard the villain will get it in light cos he knows he can rebuy. Also be keen to get invloved with bigstacks so you can double up your double stack.
Back to normal play once rebuy period over….
I'm pretty sure we should be taking add on everytime unless we is super small, or super super bigstacked….. Agreed folks?
Should really see the buyin to these being 3x actual buyin.
Heard somewhere that you should double rebuy at start (and add-on) if you think you have a skill edge, if you dont think you have skill edge then you shoudlnt be playing! Not that helpful if youre just learning, but maybe drop down to a level where your bankroll is comfortable buying in for 3x….
I'd agree with your summary of benefits…

I regularly play in one of stars 1R1A and I always rebuy @ the start and then always add on during add on period….. You're @ a disadvantage if you don't…….. If you're concerned you might lose your stack early on, then enter the tourney just before the end of the rebuy period.
You end up with a deepstack and if you happen to win a nice pot during the rebuy period then you're set for the mid stages.
