Hi Guys,

I think I spazzed out with a 3bet shove last night, lost a big pot for C/L with 100 left.. Just wondering how bad of a shove this actually is.

Viillian was active & in the last 2 orbits he had opened from LP for 3x.. This time he 5x raises instead of 3.. Tiredness got the better of me & I decided I still had fold equity & shoved..

He called very light with 22 but should I have folded this one due to his 5x & him feeling committed?

Cheers

Yes his 5x was for over 1/4 of his stack. When he bet that big on the button I think he doesnt have a monster but he isnt going to let go either. A2s just plays too poorily in that spot. You have about 15 bigs find a spot where you can open shove or a better hand to 3bet ship.

Your asessment is right in that he is prob. not folding after 5xing it pf so I don't think a re-steal attempt works here.

I don't think the shove is that bad but I think it's close. You could wait for a better spot.

EDIT: +1 to JDOG

Yeah I also agree that you need to pick a better spot.  A2 just doesn't bode well with anything is he betting this large with even though it does scream small pocket pair to me normally, but with that bet he's also letting you know he's probably not folding.
