Title says it all, I had A8o in MP with 14 bigs and next blind level in 3 minutes. All stacks behind me have me covered except for the dealer which is 7BB. All of the rest have between 25 and 35 bigs. VPIP for all of them is 19-21.

I think the push is correct but I always doubt when in that 11-20 BB range. I don't think I'm ever called by worst in that spot.

A8o is pretty loose here. Was it preante or were there antes? Was it a turbo or reg speed? A10o sounds about right in this spot.

yeah seems a bit loose espically if its pre ante.

with a 14-15bb stack size from MP i'd usually shove AT+ KQ+ JTs+  QTs 55+

Agree with others, I fold as well. 3 minutes till next blind increase and you are in MP, hopefully can get through blinds before next blind increase and save a little for your shove in late position.

This was post antes. Do you still think is too loose?

I'm always confused when I'm in that 13-20BB stack size and don't know too well how to play it, specially with the push range and I start getting the feeling if I don't get a hand better than A8o in the next 3 minutes I'm gonna blind out.

Thanks for the answers.

How about making a standard 2 or 3 bb raise here in the hope of getting a fold or winning a pot if you flop good. If it goes your way you could end up on 20 bb & delay having to play push fold for a few more orbits? Is that a total No way just fold or shove at this stage?

I don't like raise folding 14BB, too many chances of getting flatted or for any of the “big” stacks to make a play with a hand that wouldn't call a push but plays well post flop, and when you get 3bet shoved you never know where you are at.

In addition if you get flatted with A8 you have a hand that is difficult to play if you don't hit as any CBet would commit you to the pot.

Thanks. It was just an option that came to my mind when I read the post so I thought I would just post it for feedback. Probably a mistake I have been making lately.
