May be embarassingly bad, but not going to learn without asking for people opinions, hehe.

Same 90 KO as other post I made, 34 left now.  Hadn't had much to work with in a while, so decided to open at UTG+1 to 720, but I was on the fence about doing it.  Was thinking I should try it to pick up a pot and keep my stack above 10bbs after the blinds were about to go through me, and was hoping my EP open would make it a little more respectable.

My gut is I'm too shallow to be doing this unless I'm going to 4-bet shove and go with it, but I don't have fold equity against a 3bet from any stack at the table.  Is this plain old really bad?

You are way too shallow to open/fold and by doing it in such early position there are just too many people left to act that the % of the time that you run into a hand is too high.

If anything just shove the 89s.  I think that's actually probably a fine play.  Folding and shoving from LP or with a better hand EP is a fine option too.

the plays you are taking into consideration here you are beyond too shallow for you would need in my opinion 35BB+ to even think about 4bet shoving with the expectation of a fold. I'd be shoving here your stack is pretty low and youre in danger of losing fold equity all together you're gonna have to put it in lite sometimes and get lucky to win I mean worst case 98s plays great post flop 🙂
