Hi folks. This is my first post on TPE, signed up yesterday and pretty impressive so far. I mostly play 12/180's and 45's on stars, and I've been having an absolute nightmare with them this week (down about  10million buy-ins). Anyway this hand bothered me so figured I'd post it here.

I think there's about 13 people left. I figured my A8s was miles ahead of villain's shoving range but I've been running like muck lately and beginning to think I'm isolating shortstack shoves too light. Thoughts?

becksnrog (SB): BB = 35.9, t57371

2 folds, SLBLEO raises to t9844 all in, Freeworld777 raises to t26324 all in, ,,,

Here's a similar hand with A8s that popped up again today, stacks are different but I made the same move going on the assumption that I should be well ahead of his shoving range. What about this one?

I don't play a lot of 12/180s so i'm not sure if i'm best qualified to give this advice (lol maybe i shouldn't even post) but I think hand 1 looks fine and hand two is close – might wait for a better spot.

I think that the first hand is slightly worse than the second hand because there are 2 decent sized stacks behind you and the fact that the BB will probably call with ATC. However, I'm not saying whether either is a push or a fold. I'm not that great at tournament push/fold, but  SNG Wizard should be able to answer your question.

Very tough spots imo. We consider that both villians are getting short stacked and they are opening MP and CO so they dont have to have a super strong hand.  I love A8 but if we call we are racing at best we and we have some hands dominated.  I guess for me I would really need to consider A)  what I thought about the villians?  B) Whats going on with  the two players to my left, when I am  the button or SB can I steal often? C) whats the table dynamics like is it aggro overall or nitty? Will there be some chances for shoving with less than premium hands?

Hand 1: I like my stack compared to the rest of this table. I fold and choose to be the one shoving into shorties.

Hand 2: I think I get it in here. He can have worse Ax hands, some Kx hands, and other stuff we're ahead of or flipping against. Plus it's an LP shove as opposed to an MP shove which makes me lean closer toward getting it in.

I get it in in the second one, his range is really wide.  The first one is different because preserving your stack is a little more important.  The extra 6bb helps a little, but it will also bring you under 10bb, which hurts your fold equity, which you need in these especially with Glitlr directly to your left, who will be calling correctly most times. He will also not be pushed off hands like AT+ and 55+ here by your reshove, so you have to take his 12bb stacks into account as well.
