its almost for all your chips, Im a bit on the tight side, so Id say at best you are on a coin flip….so It depends if that is good enough for you…Also HM should tell you if he is a nit or not…
I like to think you need a lot stronger hand to call a raise, then one to raise yourself, but often especially online ppl are whatever. A supernova dude a week ago, call my ALL IN preflop for half of his ships with 79o, i had 78s…and he goes “u were dominated”…thats never me calling raises that light…
Having said that 88 there cant be too bad
It’s close. I’d definitely call with 99. In this case I think he’s shoving all pairs so there are 6 you dominate and 6 that dominate you. Plus all his broadway and weak aces. GIven the overlay and presences of weak aces I think it’s a call.
Have you tried pokerstoving it? It’s basically a math question here.
At this stage of the SNG my move depends entirely on what my table is like. If everyone has tightened up for the final table bubble (which seems to happen a lot in these things), then I definitely fold here. If everyone is tight then I will have added fold equity, making it easier for me to shove and take down lots of juicy pots.
On the other hand, if most of the table is playing correctly, and shoves are coming from a bunch of player frequently, then I call here and hope to win a flip.
i think its a call all day long. he has 8BB UTG, he has nil fold equity next hand – his range is wide. Unless you have a read that he’s playing ultra NIT, call it.
With that said looks like you were lieing 3rd or 4th in the tourny with some seriously small stacks, so folding and waiting for better push spots nearing the final table bubble with weaker hands is also a good play.

This is what makes me lean towards a fold. Don’t flip… bully the remaining shorties on the FT bubble and preserve the bubble as long as you can to chip up against people looking to jump the pay scale.
