10bb UTG villain shoves. MP2 villain flats that has us covered. We are sitting with 43bb on the button with a premium.
Hero's perspecitve:
1. What is your range in this spot against different type of villains (loose/passive, aggressive/competent and tight/aggressive?) as “standard”.
MP Villain's perspective:
2. Should we ever have a reshove range when we have a big stack and 40+bb stacks behind?
3. What is your range in this spot for flatting UTG's raise then calling/folding to a shove behind against different type of villains (loose/passive, aggressive/competent and tight/aggressive)?
My Analysis:
1. In hero's perspective with this given hand I think its a reshove against an unknown player type. My “standard” range against an unknown would be along the lines: AJs+ AQo+ TT+.
Loose/passive: My range would probably widen to 88+ A9/ATs+ AJo+ and maybe KQs, depending on how loose/passive villain is. If they were 25/10 i would use the above range and widen it based on statistic differences.
Aggressive/competent: My range would basically be the same as a loose/passive except slightly tighter as we lose some of the fold equity we have against the villain above. Probably around 99+, ATs+, AJo+.
Tight/Aggressive: I think using the “standard” range is probably the best of JJ+, AQo+, AJs+.
MP2 Villains perspective:
2. Having a stack this big and 40+bb stacks behind I think we should be flatting our whole range to allow villains behind to make mistakes in shoving too wide. We can also flat hands like 99 here and then fold to a shove behind if a tight villain wakes up and smacks his stack in the middle. We can also call off players behind that will shove low PPs, broadways etc.
3. This is a spot that is really villain dependent but i would mostly likely be calling off JJ+ AQs+ AKo after i flat and a stack behind jams, widening to 99+, Ajs+, AQo+ to loose/competent villains.
Please reply with your ranges for this spot against different player types, any interesting discussion elements or analysis of whats written above. Have i missed anything that I should be thinking about in spots like these?
