I don't have exact stack sizes but I believe I had ~80k and he had ~50k.

I'm 1/20 and with 15 paid in this 11c.
I had been playing super agg basically opening every hand and 3betting some.  This guy had 3bet me twice in obvious spots and I 4bet stuffed both times and he folded pretty quickly.
He was on the TAGish side, and hadn't 3bet me from EP yet.

We played 1 pot postflop where i opened button, he 3bet super deep from SB, and i flatted like 53hh. I floated flop c-bet and took it away on the turn.

He's seen me play really agg, and like 3bet shove flops. I actually won a full orbit of hands in a row at one point.
I guess because of how easy I can accumulate I should fold? idk, just a gross river over-shove (38k into 25)

I was in first, and would have had like 3x the chips of 2nd if i called and was right. like 20 left, 15 paid.

Why not lead river for value/blocker?  I just think there's like 0 chance he can bluff raise you in this spot w/o Ad, since the Ad is all up in your range.

I guess you're never getting called by worse, but I also think you cap your range when you check river because you're NEVER doing that with Ad, leaving you open to this shove.

Tough spot.

I think I call in this spot. I would think that he's 3bet range pre includes a lot of PP's and broadways. To me, this looks like an over pair OTF, maybe set. He might even be scared of the diamond draw coming in OTT and that's why he checke IMO, I might be wrong tho.

Has he been 3bettting alot against other players, or just you?

I don't think he has Ad here, or he would've gone for a smaller bet and tryed to get payed. I think he;s thinking something like, “if I shove im only getting called by the Ad”. Im not sure tho, love to hear some more input.

BDtrips, what happened to that tourney the other day? did you bink? are we all invited to have some beers and  fees for major events covered? smile

If he had an overpair or a set here (without a diamond) wouldn’t he just check back river because of his showdown value? I also think that if he had an overpair without a diamond he would be more likely to bet/fold turn. Like if I had 2 black aces here I would be betting turn. If we had AxAd then we can be more willing to check back because we don’t mind another diamond falling.

On the river he can really be shoving the Ace, King, or Queen of diamonds if he is a thinking player because Nokaman’s range is capped at a jack or queen high flush at the most, and thats only if he didnt 4 bet jj/qq pre. In essence, we think he has to have the nuts or nothing with the overshove, but in reality he can comfortably shove the 2nd or 3rd nuts for value, and do it in a way that looks bluffy. Either way, I think I’m folding here and saving my chips. You said yourself you had no problem acumulating chips at this table and I think you still have like 55bb or so behind which is a boatload in these tourneys. What ended up happening?!
