Ok villain in the middle has folded to my 3bets pre twice and limp called my iso and c/f flop previous to this hand.

When i saw this while reviewing HH i really hated my sizing with the board texture, what do we do when he bombs turn like this?

tough spot.  Goes without saying that we are behind here.  If we are calling it would seem it is simply to gamble.  We do have a ton of outs of course, and our A might even be live, but I dont think we are getting the right price to call.  The upside is, when we do hit we have a reallllly nice stack to work with.

I would prefer a small 3 bet pre over his open to either take the pot there or narrow his range with how he plays.  I don't really like to play a7hh with this stack (by overcalling) because  if and when a ace hits the flop you are in an awkward spot going forward and encourage the blinds to come along.  Now you do have a blocker with the ace, but I think that 3 betting will help you going forward.  When you play a suited ace/rag and hit the flop big, then I am going with it, because if you aren't why are we even playing the hand.  I see that the suited ace rags in these spots are the same as playing a small pocket pair.  The odds of flopping a set or a flush draw are very similar so if you do hit your hand, then I am going with it…..Always ask yourself before playing your hand, “what are you trying to accomplish”.  This always helps me.  Best of luck at the tables.

Eh, definitely not getting the right price to call so as played i'd fold.

Not sure i'd 3 bet pre flop (because as you said Ax suited is comparable to middle-low pairs so would you 3 bet those in position preflop?)

I agree with terbet 3betting pre is a better line easy fold to a 4bet and we have position on him if he flats.

Yeah i don't like the way i played this hand at all frown

^^ (3bet)

as played, on the flop id either shove ai or c and try to bink and see what villain does. he might check the turn and fold to a bet from us.

ur raise on the flop is too small to scare away a lot of hands. He might have turned the nut club fd where he wouldve folded to a bigger committing raise. and he could be bluffing (bet-float oop-donkshove).

We have over 1/3 our stack committed after the flop action and we're considering folding? This is effectively a shove of 5300 into 7300 so we're calling 5300 to win 12600. Vs. TPTK we have 34% equity.

It really depends on what you put him on here.

A set is gonna get it in on the flop. An overpair should, too. Against 2 pair we have 30% equity.

In the future I'd 3b pre or make a shove or much larger flop raise here. As played I probably just go with it instead of folding after putting 1/3 my stack in the middle.

OK, so you have 9 outs for a flush and 6 for the straight (not double counting the flush cards), making 15 from the remaining 46, or 18 if you include the aces. So odds are 15/46 or 18/46.

You are getting 17787/5237 to call.

So, if you call will win 1 in 3.1 or 2.6 times depending if you think the aces are live. And you are getting 3.4 to 1 on your money. So I think this is a close spot, but a call is +ev.

Can you explain the rationale behind your RR on the flop?

Do you think the Raiser is weak here, because if not you would like to see the 1st bettor to overcall to improve your potodds as your are drawing to the nuts. What happens in my mind is you inflate a pot and force a player out that you would like to see call.

Cheers.

Because we are ahead of his range, in position, and he's a weak opponent that shuts down easily.  You can take this away from him here, or on the flop a large % of the time.

What is your history or the button, sb, and bb?
I dont like a flat preflop because you are opening
The door for those 3 to squeeze.

3 betting preflop accomplishes many things in this
Instance.

1) you help narrow the openers range/isolate
2) you take control of the pot.

Now the betting sequence is likely to change on the
flop. He checks…you bet…he raises…now
YOU can apply the pressure with the all in
Bet on the flop with more equity in the hands..two
Cards to come…AND fold equity

I think 3b'ing a polarized range vs. this player in this spot with these stacks is good. Pretty sure I'd 3b every hand I decided to play here in this particular spot. A7s doesn't flop that well and we can easily snap fold to a 4b and still have 25 bb's. I'd probably 3b to like 1425-1475 and bet/get it in on this flop. This particular villain seems horrible so you can even 3b stuff like Q8s for value.
