Poker Stars $10+$1 No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t2400/t4800 Blinds + t600 – 7 players
TournamentPokerEdge.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BB): BB = 28.3, t135881

CO: BB = 25.7, t123208
BTN: BB = 12.7, t61108
SB: BB = 65.0, t311821

Pre Flop: (t11400) Hero is BB with 5 of hearts 5 of spades
3 folds, CO raises to t9600, 1 fold, SB calls t7200, Hero raises to t135281 all in, 1 fold, SB calls t125681

Flop: (t284362) 9 of spades 6 of diamonds 8 of diamonds (2 players – 1 is all in)

Turn: (t284362) 2 of clubs (2 players – 1 is all in)

River: (t284362) 7 of spades (2 players – 1 is all in)

Final Pot: t284362
Hero shows 5h 5s (a straight, Five to Nine)
SB shows Th Td (a straight, Six to Ten)
SB wins t284362

Co is a loose random (fishy) with high % pct. No real infos on sb except that hes a losing player.

That one felt bad especially since im on a DS and im doing a lot of deep runs lately but no ft or whatever.

Aren't we a bit too short to just call and see a flop ?

Do we have other options. ??

Ty guys

This spot highly depends on your read on the SB. If he's a good player then his flat looks really strong because the original opener is only 25 BB's effective. But I do think it's unlikely that he's flatting here to induce a shove by you. Either way a shove is fine IMO. Might be a bit too many BB's though. You could just call to essentially set mine as the difference between 28 BB's and 26 BB's is nothing.

I am fine with setmining here given that you are getting almost 6 to 1 direct odds and it doesn't impact your stack significantly. I think you are a little too deep to jam here, I'd probably jam up to around 24bbs I think. But it is close so I don't hate the jam either. In fact in this spot I don't think there are any truly bad lines for you to take: fold, call, jam or 3bet/fold – I'd probably just call though.

if flatter is fishy bad then i prefer setmiing even more than before because you will get to play the flop with 2 bets already in the pot a high % of the time since, CO will cbet and they will call any piece

its close but if you are going to jam, i like a slightly biggish 3 bet as i think that folds out 66-88 much more often and more hands we are flipping against
