When I saw the donklead i was thinking 2 things.
1: he most likely doenst have a J otherwise hed go for CR?
2: what hands do we put him on, the bets dont look blokkish to me? I have been opening quite a few pots, but have show good hands on SD so my early raise must get some respect.
3: i think i need to flat flop, no point in raising. on turn he bets half a pot ant it looks really valuish to me. also its like 1./3e of my stack so i need to make the descision now..
do we agree on my line? i was thinking if he barrels 2x my 1010 is prolly no good
I think you need to make the decision about what to do with this hand on the flop (shove or fold). Once he calls your preflop raise he only has about 13bb behind. Once he bets flop and you call, he has about a psb (if im doing the math correctly). I agree that he probably isnt leading anything of great value on the flop, so I would probably just stuff it here. he might even call off with a 7. he could be donking 56 too which he would call off with. He shouldn't be calling preflop with that hand obviously, but it's definitely in a fish's range. He also only lead for 742 into like 1650. If he had potted it or something then i might think about folding and conserving my 20bb stack, but not in this scenario.
As played, on the turn its pretty gross because I do think his bet looks more valuish. This is why I would probably just put it in on the flop so we don't get the chance to second guess ourself on the turn. There's a chance hes leading with a jack on the flop, but more often than not we have the best hand. If he was deeper stacked, than it would be a bit tougher of a spot.i probably just get it in on the flop here since I think we are ahead of his range, but our hand is a bit vulnerable.
*Donk leads are also read dependant. I know his stats seem pretty tight but its also not a very large sample size (I don't use a hud so i can't say much on the subject). I usually dont give credit to players for donk leading strong hands unless I've seen them do it before or I know they are nits.
I know we are looking for value with the 10s pre, but with your stack size, and stacks left to act, I may just ship this in pre..Worst case you scoop the blinds and antes. If you are coolered, unlucky. I agree with the donk bet mindset, but that is a pretty dry board. I see the bb calling pre with something like qj, kj, j10 (not likely since you have two tens), a hand that is pretty, but not quite strong enough in their mind to 3 bet shove with. He is donking a pretty good size and that is usually evident of not wanting another card to come. With the way played, I probably call and reevaluate on the turn and sigh muck if the villain double barrels. Again, I prefer to open shove here to avoid putting myself in awkard spots post. By shoving you can get broadway hands to call and smaller pairs.
Yeah it's not a fun spot when we get flatted pre, but it is the best way to get value i think. 21bb is just too much to ship here. Hijack only has 17bb and bb has like 15, and might reship 22-66, but may not call off with them if we just open shove. They also might shove some Axss hands that we have 70% equity against, but he's not going to call off with a2-a9ss.

Yeah, I hear ya, but by shoving you stay out of spots post like this, and imo you look like you have ak a bunch as well. I know that weaker aces will probably muck, but will they also 3 bet shove with a9ss to our 20bb open and with a 15bb eff stack in bb? Itis like we are screaming for action.
There are a lot of factors in regards to table dynamics, the villains remaining to act, etc. I think it depends on the buy in tourney too. This is a spot that I struggle with because I hear BigDog saying open for value, but then I am cussing myself when I open get flatted by a villain with 15-17bb and 2 overs come and may be out of position or find myself being c/r. You shove here, may get called my 99, ak, aq, ajss, and middle pairs like 77, 88. Then when we hold we now have close to 40bb and game on. It is definitely a hand that I look forward to hearing other opinions on.
