hey

hero’s image – has been pretty active before i was dealt this hand.

which line do you take pre vs an unknown opponent here?   4-bet shove, 4-bet anywhere between $1800-$2000? i’m not to sure about flatting , i guess that cant be terrible.

cheers.

For me, this would be totally villain dependent. With an unknown or active/spewy player, I would probably 4 bet to 2200-2500 and would be calling off pretty quickly. I think we have to be realistic and expect a lot of villains to jam worse, and there are only 12 combos that have us in really bad shape. If villains range is 99+,AQo+,AQs+ we have 58% equity and their range could be wider. If I have a read villain is nit, then I would consider 4 betting smaller and folding if they rip it as 50bb’s is a lot when you’re at best flipping.

I don’t think I’m ever flatting here, it keeps a lot of Ax/Kx hands in their range and there are a lot of flops which we’ll be hating.

You start the hand with 55bb.  This seems like a lot to be 4bet ripping.  I mean you got him to call you with a low pair so well done!  But I don’t think this would be the norm.  Although I will take villains line sometimes when I’m playing known weak players that just rip over my 3bet like this.  I find that I’m almost always up against a complete bluff or AK that they are afraid to play.

But in this spot, against an unknown, I would play this one of 2 ways:

1.  I would 4bet to a 2.75 – 3x his bet (because you are going to be oop for the rest of the hand) to a bet of 2200 – 2400.  If you are in position then make it about 2.2-2.5x (1800 – 2000).

2.  I would flat and take a flop.

I would probably 4bet 80% of the time, and flat 20% of the time.
