Quick question to everyone: Looking at the new Lock/Cake client I noticed a full MTT table is 10-person. Does the added person alter the way in which you think about your hands & ranges, look at the villains' ranges, and what they may or may not do, etc.?

Hello mate,

based on what I know, there is no significant change in how things work between 9 vs 10man tables,

(as there is  6man vs 9man). Only in the loooong run, statistically speaking, in the 10m table more big hands

(AA,KK etc) will be dealt.

Tighten your opening range slightly more from EP and MP. Just a small adjustment.

Thanks to both of you for the replies.

MentzeGR: I did rail a few MTTs on the new Lock and noticed that there seemed to be quite a few coolers happening. I wasn't sure if it was just happenstance or a pattern due to the “extra” player.

Fk: I can see how cutting out a few hands I might normally open, depending on the table environment at the time, is in order.

Another observation I made from railing, then playing in my first new Lock MTT ($1T $100 deepstack): once the blinds began to get deep, more players open-shoved their 15-20 and even up to 25 BB stacks and were shoving, and calling, lighter than on pre-Cake Lock.
