Absolute Poker No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t4000.00/t8000.00 Blinds – 3 players

TournamentPokerEdge.com Hand History Converter

MONEYKING900 (BTN): t131034.00 16.38 BBs

CHIPNCHAIR422 (SB): t775644.00 96.96 BBs

Hero (BB): t171822.00 21.48 BBs

Pre Flop: (t12000) Hero is BB with A of diamonds J of spades

MONEYKING900 raises to t24000, CHIPNCHAIR422 calls t20000, Hero…?

BTN is playing a little loose but tightened up a bit 3 handed, he wasn't a great player.

SB just won a huge pot off me for the chip lead sucking out with K5s on K729 vs my K7 with flush on the river. He's been very active since and doesn't seem to be that good.

Is flatting here the best play or do people like a 3bet?

3 handed with 21bb im jamming. initial raiser is a really bad player as u mentioned or is really strong here. he chose to raise 3x with a 16bb stack. no matter wt, unless he is trully that bad he will be committed and playing for his entire stack. big stack calls and not shove which makes me confident my aj is ahead of his range as well. i shove all day here. get it in.

Shoving this hand. Never flat or 3 bet for less than a pile of chips in their eye socket.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that 3 handed this is a shove.  It' think about it for a sec though given the ICM implications and the fact that the guy calling could bust this hand and you move up.  But that said, I still shove.

I don't know how much stock we can put into that, though, RFB. If the SB is a fish like OP says there's a pretty good chance he just check/folds a lot of flops and then we feel like an idiot folding AJ 3 handed when a shove would have doubled us or added like 25% to our stack if they fold like they will a lot of times.

Yeah I agree…AJ is way too strong here.  A3 or something like that would really cause me to pause.
