I read an article a while ago which speculated that making money from playing online poker would only continue for a finite time.
The argument was that as people got better at the game it would be harder to exploit an edge, witheveryone eventually playing close to optimal poker.
As I've started to really try and improve my game I've realised that this is just not true – because to play anything close to even relatively good poker, takes a huge amount of time, skill, application and stamina and most people, including the average rec players just can't be arsed.
I also think I read a stat that 1 in 3 online players were 'winning' players – (I just don't see how this can be true tbh)
After all you can still be a losing player and really enjoy the game – I should know :-).
I know the games have gotten harder but I actually think the gulf between winning and losing players has widened, if anything.
What do people think – sorry if I'm stating the bl**dy obvious
🙂
