Hi

I do have multiple problems so this probably won't be to short (will try my best to keep it short), hopefully You can give me some tips.

First, got couple of firms going which is stressfull and takes a lot of time. Which leads to playing poker and at the same time thinking about milion other things.

Second, I get bored pretty easy (with everything) which leads to doing couple of things at the same time. One would imagine when you got one table left deep deep in a mtt you will concentrate on it 100%. Well not in this case. Gonna pop music/film/read strategy w/e.

Third, everything always came easy. Meaning I never put 200% effort into anything, it's always 50-70% just enough to pass/finish project etc. (yes it's combination of laziness, distraction, being bored and that i can get away with doing the minimum)

Fourth, tilt and competing. I love to compete and hate to loose, which easily brings me into tilt mode. Example of this: let's say we got 20sng going, I will be fully satisfied and happy if I win all or at least most, winning one or two, sure will give me some joy but nothing more. Same thing goes to particular hands: example random 3bet me small from the btn – i know that even though its good spot for 3bet me light, this particular person isn't capable of doing it. But i see i have this “imaginary” fold equitty so ofc I shall 4bet shuv, or 3barrel vs. a guy who i know won't fold.

Probably there could be some more problems to write about but don't want to bore people. 🙂 For what it's worth I do realize my issues. Some I try to solve and some I don't really have an idea how to deal with. I do work out 5-6days/week to get things out of my system.

Thanks in advance for some tips.

Ok,

Lets try and keep what might feel complicated aspects as simple as possible.

1. Sounds like you are currently not doing anything to improve your ability to focus. Focus is like any other skill we want to utilise. We have to build it and strengthen it, focus is one thing that we definately struggle with when it comes to training it and building it. Techniques like Meditation or simple Focus exercises are key to helping you build your strength of focus. When you have a good quality of focus and know how to implement that in a practical sense for what you are trying to achieve, then you are giving yourself a great chance to be successful.

2. Your 4th section, is a common one amongst poker players and the reason for this is a simple as you are playing a game that cant be beat. Im not talking Poker here, I am talking about the aspects that you have no control over. In the game of poker, these are plentiful!!!

The only game that you can beat and control on a consistant basis is the one against yourself.

Making the right decisions, letting go of bad beats, preparing for your sessions well, putting everything else aside while playing should be part of the game you are trying to win. If you can break down your poker sessions in more of a game Vs yourself, than against your opponents or the field, you now have control over whether you succeed or not and that is a very empowering position to be in.

Now this is a different mindset to what most poker players will accept and thats fine, but do you want to be like the typical poker player or do you want to seperate yourself from the people you compete against?

Good Luck!
