I just realized im going to spend $2850 on big poker tournaments next week during Poker Maximus. That's like all of my current online roll. That is scary. I do have a $2500 check I can cancel if necessary and I have other funds I would reluctantly deposit in a worst case scenario.

Also, I have the WSOPC event in April, but im only going to spend like $600 in buyins there.

This is bad BR management, but I know I have the skill to play these guys. This is like 10 days full of my regular Sundays all in one week. I will probably take out the 2 big Sunday events and try to sat. into them, but still that's $1850 in buyins. Im nervous and excited, but not fearful. I know I can do this, but it would be a hella of a time to run bad and brick everything.

Im going to play Sunday and then maybe some satellites, but otherwise im going to take a few days off to study my HHs, vids, and podcasts so I can be at my best when it starts. If I play well, I could come out with 5 figures.

Anybody else here playing during Poker Maximus on Carbon? If so, good luck.

Im not tryin to tell you what you should and shouldnt do…

But If i may make a suggestion, i would say take things as they come… I think the worst thing you can do is try to force a schedule…..i find this applies greatly to live and online tourneys alike

If you make deep runs allow yourself some time to recharge and take a break to come back to the next tourney fresh….. clear the poker mind, make a nice meal [and some extra for the grinding ahead], go to the store [walk if you can], watch an episode of a dvr'd show.. etc

I treat them just as i would live tourneys, and i think it really helps…. get up walk around and use your body…. this also helps the concentration and senses……You wanna give it max concentration; so coming into each seperate tourney fresh allows a persective shift…… TO ME, theres nothing worse that starting a new toruney comin off a suck out, punting a stack, or a bad read……. I think allowing the mind to rest is a HIGHLY under used discipline in the online players arsenal…… I think that, coupled with forcing a schedule can lead to punting because you think 'oh shit i really wanna play this one' then you fire up two more and take some valuable concentration % away from the ones youre already in….

I think you can do it….. just dont think you HAVE to play every event you like on the schedule…..know what i mean….. at least for me this helps with BRM and concentration a great deal….
