Hi Jamie,
First of all I want to say thanks for taking the time to reply to my first post in this forum. It has been very helpful so far.
You mentioned the Play to WIN mindset and I was wondering if you could elaborate more on that topic as it relates to poker. How do I get myself into that state of mind and once i'm there, how do I hold on to it through an entire session.
I really want to get the mental part of my game right and Im really glad you are here to help point us all in the right direction.
Thanks
There is a fine line between Playing To Win and play too recklessly when going deep. With some great awareness, you will know the difference between the 2. When going deep, knowing what the right play you need to make in this current situation of the tournament, and then being able to make that decision, is determined by your current thought process towards this tournament.
If you really need the money, then you will play too passively and not take advantage of hands or sitiuations. If you dont care at all, then you will most likely play too recklessly. I want you to ask yourself deep in a tournament- “AM I playing to WIN and if so, what is the correct decision RIGHT NOW?”
Practising the art of awareness will help you learn and understand what state of mind you have and specifcally how you would like to change it. So spend the next few weeks learning more about your mindset while playing a tournament and lets see what we find:)
