I'm about 4 hrs away in Clarksville, TN. Are you north/south from Tunica?
hey maiztro, i'm in TN to. i live in gallatin just north of nashville. i'm trying to play my ass off to make some $$ to go for atleast event #44 and maybe another small 1 or 2. hopefully some of my small stakes win big 4 me, only got a couple of weeks. i didnt know that they had a $120 buy in, i thought the min was $235-$345. well we will c what happens. if not then i try to save for st. louis i guess.
I'll be there two weekends. I'm planning to play the Jan. 29 ring event and then try to sat into the main event two weekends later. I may play a few other weekend events. Not sure yet.
I am thinking of going up to Tunica for a few days during the WSOPC. I haven't looked at the event scheduling yet. If there are any TPE members there while I am in town it would be cool to get together.
I'll be there 28th-31st. Also playing the $345 on Saturday along with some cash in between.

My current plan is to play the first two-day event on Friday, which I assume will play down to the final table that night. If I don't make the FT, I'll play the Saturday ring event.

Sigh. Busted the $235 two-day. I was crushing it after the dinner break. I had about 95K at 500/1000 and was absolutely owning the table. I raise K
6 from MP (because my C-bets are working 100% of the time), get two callers. Flop is 345. I lead, one calller who started hand w/about 60K, one fold. Bet fairly big on a blank turn, get flatted. River is a brick, so I bet 20K, he shoves like 45K or something, I call. Yeah, AJ. Can anyone ever get away from that? The guy seemed like a weak player and had been a bit of a station, so his line seemed like he was just chasing with the A. The think the turn and river were JQ, both black, so I was betting the river to get value from all his off-suit aces that had some piece of the board. Check-calling didn't seem like an option because he's checking back like every possible hand except for the one he had.
A few hands later, pick up KK in SB. Button (22BB) tries to limp, I raise, he jams and flips over 33. Yep, 3 on the turn.
Then I lose a flip 99<KQ for my last 7500 like four hands later.
Huge stack to out in like 20 minutes. Brutal.
First ring event tomorrow at noon.
Made Day 2 of the first ring event. We're in the money. It got over 1,000 runners. Paid 108. We played down to 73 tonight.
I'll be short when we restart with 107K at 3K/6K and 1K antes. Average is around 140K. And I think I'm starting in the BB. Somebody's getting the pile early.
I got 12th in the first ring event for about $4400. Ran well to start the day and kept my stack in the 30-40BB zone until we got down to about 15 players. Then I went crazy card dead at a very active table and just couldn't make anything happen.
