Wow, yet again. ANOTHER cooler. Lost 75% of my stack. QQ, AA and my KK ……. I pushed the action pre after a raise and flat call. We got it all-in pre.
I'm going to win one of these big ones.
Great seeing Wein (Love that guy, sorry RFB) lol. Nice meeting Greg. TPE nation is the best.

PS-back tomorrow for the RING
Yea, nice getting to meet some TPE peoples. Didn't go too well for me yesterday either, busted when there was 5 tables left. I accumulated 3k from the 10k starting stack by the 2nd level, but then never won a significant pot after that. Only 2 hands of interest:
1) I have 12k and KhKs at 75-150. MP limper and I open in HJ to 525. limper calls and we see flop of TcTsQc. He checks and I cbet for 675. He CRs to 1800. Hadn't seen him show anything down yet, but he had CR'd someone earlier as well. Maybe I give that too much credit, but seemed like with the decently long structure I could find a better spot so I folded. Had the feeling I would have to pay 3k-4k to get to showdown with him, and wouldn't be in love with most cards that came if he continued betting a decent size.
2) At around 25bbs at 200-400, 50 ante there is a massive stack 2 to my left and there are 3 limpers. I have 2 black 8s on the btn and feel like I should have taken this spot to shove, but wussied out.
After that I took 3 shots at opening pots in late position but only won 1 to hover around 20bbs. Then after blinds go up to 250-500 I didn't get any shove spots. Closest thing was 8c6c (w/ 9bbs) in LP but a tight older woman who had recently doubled w/ KK back up to 9bbs opens UTG to 3x. No one called and she showed AA. Next hand I shove A8o and folds to the BB who only has 12bbs and he squeezes an A and then…. a K, gg me.
Frustrated that I was handcuffed into getting that low, but oh well, was fun playing a long structured live event.
@P-aire how many runners today?
Real bad. Only 107 runners today for day 1a for the ring. I had a tough table draw and got pairs, but lots of callers and didn't hit a set all day. Tried a few tricks, but each time I barely got paid. I think I'd rather be coolered like yesterday. lol Made it to 300-600 w/ 20BB's. A8 o on button, I push all in, SB calls w/ 99. no joy. Overall, happy with my play yesterday and today. I'll be back for tomorrow. Low numbers means a better chance at ring. We'll see.
If anyone is playing. I'll be the wacko wearing the U of Michigan blue and Maize.
Pierre
Only 120 players today. Total for RING event 1, 240 ish. That's a joke. The rake was a joke as well. That's something most of us talked about not enjoying.
More solid players today. Not sure if I'm going back tomrrow. Today, I faught my way from 3k early to 12k just to have a Mike Madasow moment and go busto, lol.
Hope you guys do well.
Yeah, I'll be there tomorrow. The turnout has SUCKED so far. I'd be surprised if there's 150 tomorrow. But it is for a ring. Plus, it's the last big live tourney until Oct or so. Got a promo class I need to take for work and those classes are on teh weekend. Shelled out 25 hundo for the class, so I need to concentrate. lol
I'll be the white guy standing by the doors to teh ball room with a all navy blue Phillies had on. If I don't see you dudes, good luck.

Were down to 11 in event 2, I think im 9th in chips. 22k to 1st, time to do work! Events haven't got much of a turnout, but should pick up next week. Staff and dealers are all very good. I think the structures are pretty good as well relative to the buyins.
Gl bro ill be up there in bout 45 min to start event 3 ill come check u out
Everyone say congrads to “the softest” He took 3rd today in event #2 a tourney filled with sickos, pros, and damn good regs. I watched him for a while while i was in my own event. GG bro ! Nice meeting you man glad to finally meet someone in person from TPE. I busted event #3 right b4 the big money a couple hours after i saw u….called a raise from utg after he already got one caller with 88. Flop came 567 rainbow i was pretty damn short so this was about the best damn flop i could hope for. UTG Cbets mid position folds i shove he snaps with KK no 4,9, or 8 on the turn or river. Pretty heart breaking but i had a great time and cant wait to hit the circuit again.
Wow, that's awesome. That event 2 final table was very tough. I knew 3 of the players, all 3 solid pros.
Sorry I didn't have a chance to meet either of you guys. I went busto today at the hands of a complete DONKEY. I was down to 20 BB's, a raiser makes it 600 and gets 4 calls. Comes to be in BB w/ A9 s, I go all in. Everyone folds except teh button DONKEY (60 yr.old w/m) who thinks about it and calls for 40% of his stack. I tell him, “You're ahead.” Then he shows Q 10 o and says “I was bored.” I turn the nutt flash draw, he has only 4 outs. Of course you know what came………….. Q on the river. Are you “F”ing kinding me. I hadn't showed any BS hands. Lost most of chips to flush vs. flush. So happy I'm taking some time off from poker to take a promotional class (work wise). I need a break from my downswing (since Feb both live & online)
Good luck to you guys who play at Chester.
Thanks Everyone!!
Deeder it was great meeting you, and thanks for being on the rail when you could. Also good luck if youre playing any more events this week!
As for my event #2 experience: First off this was only my second live deep structure tourney, but I still felt very confident going in, especially due to the success I have had the past couple months online (Thanks TPE!). My first table seemed very solid, only 2 of the players seemed on the fishy side. During the second level I got dealt 910 clubs in the cutoff. UTG+1 makes it 200 to go, I flat and bb defends. I flop the stones 78J all clubs. Ended up being about a 6-7k pot when it was all said and done and I was feeling good to have a decent stack that early. Unfortunately not too much went right for the next couple hours and I was a short stack. Picked up some easy chips stealing blinds and 3bet shoving a couple times. I would say I was between 10-18bbs for a very good majority of the tourney, never grinded a short stack for so long in my life.
When there were 21 players left I was prob in 18 or 19 place(Top 18 cash). I picked up AA and had like 15-17bb's and open shoved in ep, button calls with AK and I hold, pretty much gauranteeing myself a finish in the money, life is good! Shortly after we were in the money, but had another couple hours til day 1 was over. I picked up QQ twice in one orbit and won both pots there to put myself in position to actually make a run at the ring! We ended day 1 with 11 players and I was eighth in chips. About 15 mins in to day 2 we got down to 10 and the unofficial final table. I picked up JJ on the button and got it in against the bb's A3ss and held to knock her out and start the real final table. Came in 6/9 and was happy with how I played the whole time. Once we were down to 4 I started to really feel outmatched by the other 3 players- Gordon Eng, Matt Lope who came in 2nd in an large field event last month at caesars and another solid live reg. Ended up getting my 11 bbs in bvb A5ss<KQ for a third place finish and my biggest cash to date-$9985!!
The event was run really well and it was the first time I ever played live (tourneys or cash) where every single dealer was really good and on point. Question to any of the pros, or anyone who has had a decent cash live for that matter; What would you recommend I should have tipped with my finish, or what is the standard tip%??
Well I'm back in Pittsburgh now so I wont be playing any more events this week. Good luck to all TPE members still playing there, really hope one of you ship a ring!
-Todd
Awesome job Todd. You should be very proud. You were against a good number of solid players at that final table. I've player with a few of them. Gordan is a Atlantic City beast with lots of wins and cashes in live tourneys. Matt (the winner) is solid, met him in AC when he finished 2nd at event #1. Larry (seat 1) and Tim (seat 10) are both very solid with cashes in AC and other big tourneys. Be happy, I'm sure it's a prelim to what's to come for you in live play in the future. Obviously, my early post tells you how I did. LOL Sorry we didn't have a chance to meet.
They actually took money out of the prize pool for the tip I believe. At least that's what they normally do now.
As far as Chester Harrahs, they did ok. There were problems with a handful of dealers because they just got out of school, but Im glad you didn't have that problem. I dealer I had dealt us 8 live hands in her 30 minute stay at table 19. During event #2, the tourney director removed at dealer after dealing us just two hands. He a apparently is a black jack dealer at Harrah's. The numbers were low…… location and not being a Casino/Hotel at a bunch to do with that.
WSOP Chester event 3 winner, Izzet Burak Temel from Virginia maybe a TPE member. RFB and I played with him in AC (Ceasars). Very good 21 yr.old online pro. I enjoyed playing with him so I'm happy for him. Even better if he actually is a TPE member. He did tell me he doesn't post much. Hope he is a member.
RFB/Killingbird…. do you guys know if he's a member???
RFB, he's diff the guy you played with in AC at event 1. I played with him earlier in the day. We talked a bit about TPE because I was wearing the patch and pointed you out to him. We talked a bit during the Chester event. He's a cool dude and a very good player. Like I said, I hope he's a TPE guy and chimes in…. Just means TPE has a bunch of horses in the stable……. weeeeeeeeeeeeee
I really wanted to, but told myself I needed to play well and cash in something to play the main. Plus, it was kinda hard being mother's day. So, I decided not to play.
I know Wein played and got coolered, he's out. Not sure if any other TPE guys played. I'm sure there were less then 150 total players.
