This is an annual great stop for the WSOPC. Many TPE Pro's & members have had great runs here.
Who's showing up for any of the events…… I'm 95% sure I'll be there for events 1-4 + maybe the Main.
I have been told by good friend Ttwist, he and BigDog are in along with Cory W, Killingbird, Loxxii and a few others.
I know Lee Childs and Jamie K will certainly be there. Along with my good friends TPE guys, Trevor Deeter & Joe Steur……..

There have been some recent plot twists.
Ttwist is now going to the Quebec event the week before this one instead. I was supposed to roll with him in AC, so I wont be there for the WSOPC event either.
I will still be at the Borgata event with Andrew from 11/20-11/27. I am 90% sure I will hop a bus to Tim's afterwards to hang with him for a few days as well. I'd love to meet any fellow members in Canada while I am there.
I'll probably try to make it back to Atlanta by 12/5 for this event at Harrah's Cherokee in NC since I have to be back in Atlanta for traffic court on 12/18 anyway.

It’s a bit late in the game but if any TPE guys are in need of rooms I can book them. I have Thursday and Friday free. Saturday for $100 and Tuesday free. The other days in between I have to call and ask. I happen to live about 10 min away so it’s no skin off my back. If you’re interested you can direct message me or simply reply here.

I'll be there the whole series (at least event 2 through the main). I might need a room at some point – do you mean Harrah's or Borgata? (I tried to contact you during Borgata Open but had some weird problem with my forum login).
Any thoughts on how these tournaments will differ (if at all) from the Borgata Open that just finished? I enjoyed those tournaments a lot (thinly veiled brag excuse re 4 cashes including 18th in the main – were there other TPE types in day 3 of the main?)
I'd be up for meeting folks if there are any gatherings – thought I'd meet some at the ThinkingPoker nitcast meetup but had my backpack (with rental car keys) stolen the night before which threw me out of whack & almost made me skip the main event.
Good luck to all, unless you're that guy who 3-bet me all the time for the last two weeks.

Had a great deep run last year in this event. Today started out crappy. Then TPE Pro Jamie K joins the tbl w/ East Coast beast Joe McKeehan. Got short then dbld via JK, my 66 v AK. THen went on a nice heater….. But, got crushed for LOTS set of 4's J42 rb. he had QQ. Get in lots on flop, turn & riv. Q on riv to FMPL. down to 10bb. Jamie got my last few.
Oh well. GLGL to all. Had to go home w/ major work issue.
Maybe back for main.

I am at the final table tomorrow 8th in chips but plenty of play with about 41bbs. I cant even begin to tell you how excited I am. This is now my biggest cash ever and hopefully I can make it something really impressive. Funny thing is, I swapped 5% with one of my roommates and his friend and we are all at the final table.

Just saw the FT, Melad in seat 7 is solid/good. Not sure of many other names, I'd prob recognize faces. But seat 2, Joe W is prob the best player at that tbl in my opinion. He's very good, plenty of big results w/ some wins. Played with him a bunch. You'll have to beat him, he won't beat himself.
Again, GLGL Joe………..

I’m not completely sure (can’t see stacks well) but I think Joe is now 3rd in chips with 6 left. Not bad from 8th to start FT
___________________
Pretty sure he’s 4th of 5 now. The short stacks just got it in & Joe W (I think) knocked out the shortest stack w/KK, and is now slightly shorter than this thread’s Joe. 3rd stack not that far ahead, and even top 2 aren’t on mountains of chips.
Joe has just taken 2 biggish pots back to back from one of the leaders. 1st was a 4-bet squeeze, chip leader shows Ace as he folds, Joe shows 7. Next pot is check-check flop and turn, Joe rivers a set of 3's & gets paid on a pretty big river bet. Other guy looks pretty pissed, not sure if he's tilted. I'm not following the blog so I don't know who the other players are.

Wow still trying to grasp what has happened over the past 24 hours. Without a doubt, the greatest experience of my poker career. Better than anything was having all my poker friends railing me and Joe W most of the final table. My parents came down and caught all the action from about 5 handed on which was really special. Ive never actually told my parents what Ive been doing for a living so that takes a lot of pressure off. It was also really cool having fellow TPEer Laurence, aka huge, on the rail doing play by play for me on here.
I look back at how far ive come in poker over the past 9 months and im truly overwhelmed. Ive gone from the typical fish who thought he knew something about poker to feeling extremely comfortable and confident at the final table of a WSOP circuit event.
When Andrew and Carlos came down I told them about my fairy tale story of moving to AC in September to grind 2/5 only to crush it the first month and then hit the bbj in October. I live with 3 other incredible players, one of which is obviously JoeW. So not learning a ton about poker would have been pretty difficult.
On top of all that, this year has been full of close calls in live tourneys. I have like 6 or 7 finishes within the top 18 but no FTs until this one.
I came into the final table 8th in chips but still within reach of the leaders and with 41 bbs there was still plenty of play left. My day started very slow. I was fairly card dead and really couldnt get anything going. I opened twice in the first 2 levels, both utg. One got through and the other was 3 bet by utg+1. It was pretty frustrating but I knew I just needed to be patient and eventually I would find spots. Things went really well after I won a race with AQ against 99 and I ended up heads up with my roommate for the title. Fortunately for me, I had about a 7-1 chip lead going into heads up play. After about 5 hands, Joe shoved over my button open into my AK and I held up to take it down. As P-aire said, Joe was hands down the best player at that final table so it was nice to have such a big lead.
My poker journey began here at TPE and you guys are largely resposible for the things I have accomplished this year. Thank you so much.

Most of the vids will help. Take things from EVERYONES vids and incorporate them into your game. Not everyone can be BigDogpckt5s, Lee Childs, Andrew B, Killingbird, Ttwist, or Joe LaPinta. My dream is to be the next Jerry Yang or Darvin Moon, lol.
Again, Congrats Joe. Good story that inspires the regular grinder like myself and others. Besides TPE, you have a great base around you. I believe David Kim is another roommate/close friend. Not only is TPE a good place to find people who you can talk poker with, but it's even better when you have great friends like you do to talk with. I'm lucky to have great friends on here & live as well. See you at Borgata in Jan sir. ENJOY IT.
