As per Borgata's TD Tab, event 1 is supposed to be a 2 milly gtd. WOW
Should start Sept 5th or so………….. Last year they got over 3800 runners for this event.

Ok, they offically put the schedule up. Event 1 is a GTD 2 milly prizepool, WOWOWOOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW. I could get over 4k and prob will. Maybe even 5k.
The structure is great. If you can. Be there…………. Last year first place was 300k w/ 3810 runners………. I finished 156 in that and I'm looking for much better this time. Hope to see some more TPE guys there.

Ive never played on the East Coast. Can you tell me what to expect with the Borgata event. Will they have sats going on at the same time like at the WSOP? Will there be daily deepstack MTTs?

Hey Johnny,
Well, get ready for event #1, it's going to be like the WSOP Vegas. No sattys for event #1, but dailys and other tourneys during the other days every day. They expect SO many players for event #1 that they prob won't have room for the 3pm or 7pm tourneys. Those prob won't start till thursday when most of the event #1 madness is over. Last year for event 1 they got 3810 runners for a 1 milly GTD. 1st was 307k. Mini cash was like 1900. I was lucky/unlucky enough to finish 156 for like 2150. Bad luck at the end. But on to the next one.
Besides the WSOP Main in Vegas, this is without a dought my favorite and Crown Jewel of Borgata.
I would not miss it if I were you. Schedule looks great. THey even added a few more Gtd's with more money GTD.

Yeah Borgata is hands down best tournament spot on the east coast and it's not even close imo. The tourneys get great turnouts, structures are really good and everything is run so well. I really look forward to these.

Johnny, just another note. The besides the major events playing each day. The 3/4 pm, 7 pm daily DS & 2-4k survivor tourney's attrack LOTS of players. Can be soft w/ a few beasts who bust the day's tourneys early. At times they get 200-500 runners, good structures and a decent amount of money up top.

Now youre making this appetizing to say the least. Looking for plane rez now. BTW I dont mind playing the “beasts” in some smaller buy ins. Its a learning experience as well. Thanks!!

Yea really looking forward to this. Had a mini stroke 5 min ago when I realized I am in a wedding the first week of september. Thankfully, according to borgata's schedule it should be done before that saturday. Also looks like I will be moving to a sweet new place just outside of AC a week before this series begins. Perhaps a little TPE get together over there as long as my friend ok's it (he is buying the house).

wish I lived in the US for live poker, so many great tournaments going on.. then again, glad I'm european:)

i'll be there, enjoyed the last winter open. for those who have never been, i think most of these tourneys are one day affairs, be well rested!!! last time in a field of 1242 i finished 29th and it was about 430am when i got knocked out, i think the tourney ended at around 10am, 23 hours of play! do the TPE folks get together for a beer at these things?

This tourney is not a one day event. It has TWO day 1 starting days on Tues & Weds, day 2 is THURS and there's a chance they may bring back the final table on friday. They did that both last Sept and in Jan for the winter open.
The TD of Borgata Tab said he wants this event to finish on day 2, which means it's going to end some time on Friday morning after 4am minimum more like 7-9am.
Expect a minimum of 4500+ runners for this one……..
Event 1 in Jan got 3871 and 1st was 318k. Event 1 last Sept got 3700 and 1st was 309k. Both of those were 1 milly GTD.
THIS IS GOING TO HUGE. Biggest tourney outside of WSOP Vegas.

I knew what you meant. I played in all series event 1's for a few years and cashed in the last 6. Deep, but no top 20's yet. You prob played one of the BIG gtd tourney's or one of those big weekend one day's. All normally huge. Either way, nice finish. glgl at Borgata sir,

This event 1 is going to be epic. Should be the BIGGEST tourney held outside of Las Vegas. This years Jan WPT Borg Event 1 was the biggest to date, 3871 runners.
I'm going to put the number at 4646……… Lets see how many it gets.

I'm booked…sounds just like the first event of the LA Poker Classic…huge field, you stand around on Thursday and Friday wondering if anyone in LA has a job. I miss Long Beach!

I just
went and pre-signed up (online) for the first event which as everyone knows is the 560.
My question is that after paying the entry fee of 60 bucks, it gave a disclaimer.
It read that if you do not show up two hours before the start of the tourney
you could be disqualified. Has anyone ever been disqualified for not being
there really early? The reason I signed up online was so that I would not have
to worry about getting a seat on day 2 or having to show up really early.

No, never heard that and can't imagine you would be disqualified. If you want, go on twitter and ask the Tourney Director Tab Duchateau. but I'm almost certain you have nothig to worry about.
There's a separate line for the pre reg players so you're lucky.

Busto. Crazy day. Soft field. Seemed like every time I got a Good stack I got coolered. AA can’t beat 22. 2 flop vs very fishy kid. Then I turn the nut draw. Rv it but the big dog (5) gives him boat. But then got laggy and started pissed people off and winning heeps loll. HAd it up to 85k then lost like 20k w/ AA v flopped nut flush. After that. Couldn’t find a spot or cards. Happy w play. Back at it tomorrow Blk chip bounty tourney

thx, really appreciate it. yeah, the cream rose to the top here. jonas put me to the test late when he bombed the river on an A4557 board with three diamonds and I decided to hold onto my last 20bb and fold my A6. I asked him to show the bluff and he obliged by turning over Q10. bad fold, gotta live with that one. big lesson on not following one's read.

Looking forward to playing the WPT Borgata Main w/ TPE Pros Jamie, Lee, Jarod and others……. Playing day 1a this year. Last two years played day 1b and made day 2, changing up things this year. Had a good conversation with Mr. Childs and feel like I needed a few small adjustments. Going to play my best and hope it's a top 20 full of TPE pros & members along with me. One time for the kid from South Jersey, lol.

gotta slide a brag in…once again had the excitement of going deep at a 1K, 13th this time. Blog got my chip stack wrong for my final hand, no way i am open shoving 26bb with j10off; i only had around 11 big blinds when i shoved.
